Matt Gaetz: "Withdrawing My Name" From AG Consideration

Personally, i'd like to see the report released in the name of transparency. However, I do believe this was politically motivated, so if they want to tie the release of this report to the release of the list of sexual assault settlements paid by taxpayers I am fine with that. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

I do understand the counterargument though.

You had an extremely aggressive DOJ, going as far as to raid Melania's underwear drawer, and they investigated this claim for 2-3 years and no charges were brought.

In this country you are innocent until proven guilty.

Matt Gaetz is currently innocent and should be treated as such.
Funny to me how often "currently innocent and should be treated as such" only applies to someone's own "team".

Currently innocent *after being investigated by a hostile DOJ for 2 years* that resulted in no charges.

It's not like it wasn't investigated by someone eager to bring a case.

His qualifications are that he was improperly targeted by the DOJ for years. That is enough for me.
So in your mind, having sex with a minor, and being investigated for that, makes him qualified to be the top cop in the land.

Is it owning the libs to be this objectively dense?

In my mind, if you are investigated by a hostile DOJ for two years after you worked with the FBI in an extortion scheme against you, and no charges were brought and the people in charge of bringing charges also used novel legal theory to go after the President ...... Yeah, he is qualified, and I am fine with it. Turnabout is fair play. Guess you guys didn't expect to lose.

The good news is, that if the Dems did everything by the book, like Susan Rice mysteriously said on her last day in office, then they don't have anything to worry about.

again, none of what you listed are qualifications for the job. You don't make any sense to me. Your logic is wack

Empathy and consideration is a life skill that not all possess. It is important to understand that.
'my party' jfc is your whole life framed by red vs blue?
When you have assholes demanding you wear something covering your face and assholes demanding you take unproven medical treatments and if you don't comply the assholes will threaten your livelihood?

Yes, my whole life is framed by red and blue and fvck the blue. That was asshole behavior. And its asshole behavior to support kids cutting themselves. That is not empathy, that is cruelty.

Correct. My guess is it will go to Kash Patel or maybe Ken Paxon. Either way the left will pitch a fit just like they do for everything else. Y'all need to channel the Fetterman vibe and just chill.
Gaetz was in no way qualified. Pointing that out isn't pitching a fit. You appear to be projecting your grievances on everything.

Not to worry. They will get his name out of the news temporarily, do stalling tactics about the AG choice then appoint Gaetz AG during the Congressional recess. It's the first thing I thought of when the news broke.

Next man up! (or maybe not). Totally plausible that he gets appointed in recess and gets is 210 or 420 days or whatever to throw a bunch of hand grenades and take all the initial rounds of incoming fire before the next guy comes in.

I don't think the house should release the ethics committee findings. He resigned and rules are rules. I also think that the fact that he was no-shit investigated and never charged says a lot.

Provided he isn't up for a role in government again I suppose.

I like it when my AG picks are registered lobbyists for foreign countries.

i love everything about Trump season 2

Better he picked the unregistered ones? How hard did you look at the Bamster's or Biden's picks?

FWIW, I'm not sure there is anyone in government not working a scheme somewhere.

On second thought. You're right. She's total trash.

Here are the sorted details of the foreign outfit she was lobbying for:

She also lobbied for a Kuwaiti firm, according to Justice Department foreign agent filings and congressional lobbying documents. She registered as a foreign agent for the government of Qatar; her work was related to anti-human-trafficking efforts leading up to the World Cup, held in 2022.

She's universally regarded among florida attorney as being as dumb as a box of rocks. You could stumble in on her eating a box of crayons and not be shocked in the slightest.

l o l
Assuming Bondi becomes AG, law schools of last 10 Attorneys General (oldest to most recent):

Harvard
Chicago
Harvard
Yale
Columbia
Harvard
Alabama
George Washington
Harvard
Stetson

Edit: please don’t make the mistake of thinking these means I hold Ivy League universities to some high standards. They’re full of just as many dipshits as elsewhere, and likely moreso considering the amount of wealthy failkids that buy their way in

My question is, when do republicans/Magas/right wing/center right start saying that the only way she got to her position was because she hooked up with more powerful men?

I can't believe I have to post this, but I just want everyone to remember that it's not an act of 4D chess that President Trump switched out his Attorney General nominee. We're here because Uniparty Republicans, in collusion with the media, committed a coup against his pick.

Pam Bondi will do the job, but we mustn't forgive the RINO Senate for what they did. We mustn't forget this when they come asking for reelection.

I'm not a fan of people making it seem like this was all part of some plan. NO, IT WAS NOT. We got screwed by the Senate establishment, and we have to recognize that and use it as fuel to remove them from office.

Well, not AG material but definitely qualified to headline the Democratic presidential ticket 😳

Sorry...just having a little fun with the notion that she is "universally regarded [...] as being as dumb as a box of rocks". She may well not be invited to join Mensa anytime soon, but I'm going to need something more than that.

The last guy was beat up for lack of experience--among other things. This one at least has experience. Still, if you don't like Trump, I fully expect that you won't like most of his cabinets picks.

Did she though? I mean, if she did, I'll say it. Which married official was she banging to earn her first government appointment?

Gates regularly donates to and openly supports Democrats with his $$$ and words.

Props to Soros, much like he found the mispricing of the British Pound, he was the first to recognize their was an arbitrage opportunity in local politics. He continually funded political races at the local level to get prosecutor's friendly to his ideology elected. This of course lead to certain policies, like no bail in Chicago, and other soft on crime prosecutors. It also undoubtedly lead to the Defund The Police movement.

Bezos owns the Washington Post and supports democrats regularly in many different ways.

So, spare me any complaints about Billionaires. Elon is just playing the game better than the other Billionaires. Maybe Defund The Police and Soros' soft on crime prosecutors weren't what the public wanted. Or maybe he will double down and try harder to get his people elected to office so that he can have outsized influence. Let them compete and We The People can decide.

Either way, its good that people are waking up to what's going on. More accurate and truthful information for voters is a win for We The People.

I personally don’t like the use of violence against anyone however enemies to the US deserve a drone fired Hellfire missile

George Soros who has done huge damage to America is on my list of people who need to be dealt with to stop the garbage coming from foreign terrorists like Soros
