Hope everyone has a great weekend! Ok @Clem'sSon here we go.

‪On May 18th in 1996, Soundgarden perform for the first (and only) time on Saturday Night Live. Jim Carrey hosts.‬

‪On May 18th in 1949, Rick Wakeman (keyboardist for Yes) is born in Perivale, London, England.‬ Wakeman intended to be a concert pianist but quit his studies at the Royal College of Music in 1969 to become a full-time session musician. His early sessions included playing on "Space Oddity", among others, for David Bowie, and songs by Junior's Eyes, T. Rex, Elton John, and Cat Stevens. Wakeman became a member of Strawbs in 1970 before joining Yes a year later, playing on some of their most successful albums across two stints until 1980. Wakeman began his solo career in 1973; his most successful albums are his first three: The Six Wives of Henry VIII (1973), Journey to the Centre of the Earth (1974), and The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table (1975), all concept albums. He formed his rock band, The English Rock Ensemble, in 1974, with which he continues to perform, and scored his first film, Lisztomania (1975).

‪On May 18th in 1975, Lynyrd Skynyrd released ‘Saturday Night Special’.‬ . . A cover version of this song was recorded by Armored Saint on their 1987 album Raising Fear. . . The Accüsed covered this song on the 1991 EP Straight Razor. . . In 1994, a cover version was recorded by country music band McBride & the Ride, as part of a compilation titled Skynyrd Frynds, which featured several country acts performing covers of Skynyrd songs. . . In 2002, Great White recorded a version on their cover album, Recover. . . In 2007, Tesla recorded a cover version on their album, Real to Reel, Vol. 2.

‪On this day in 1992, KISS released ‘Revenge.’‬ The album was dedicated to Carr, and the closing track, "Carr Jam 1981," is a demo the drummer had recorded soon after joining the group in 1980. One modification to the song was the dubbing of Bruce Kulick's guitar over Ace Frehley's original work. The main riff of the song was used as the basis for the Frehley's Comet song "Breakout", from the 1987 album Frehley's Comet.
