Turning out we have yet another example of someone who had been arrested on gun related charges previously and had the charges reduced due to a plea deal so that we could expedite the case....

Just another example that we don't need more laws we need to actually follow the laws we have. I'm so tired of these stories. Of course our moron president is out there asking for more gun control and I'm sure the governor of Michigan is as well. Why government effectively with existing laws when you can ask for more power and control over people and exploit the deaths of others for personal gain?

Go **** yourself.

You've really expanded your thought process there. Maybe at some point in the next thousand years you'll actually make an argument. Of course, what I said is correct and you know it. You have no rebuttal to offer because it's just the reality of the matter. So instead, you do what you do best. You turn to insults and acting like a child.

I listened to an interview with Ana Kasparian from The Young Turks tonight. She is a very thoughtful, informed and interesting person. She knows her stuff and I believe is someone who could be a key figure in helping us bridge the gap in this country. That's what happens when someone is reasonable and intelligent. Perhaps, at some point, you should acquaint yourself with those two concepts/abilities.

Absolutely! The hypocrisy/stupidity is astounding. All these liberal grandstanding about guns are the same ones changing laws to lessen punishment for gun crimes and looking to impose the least serious charge and punishment for gun crimes. This guy had TWO previous gun crime charges, received no jail time, and had his charges reduced even after previous charges for a similar offense.

They want to restrict rights for law abiding citizens, but allow criminals to carry guns with no fear of consequences when doing so illegally.

Way to bring us together Willy with your brilliant prescription for ending the slaughter of our children.

These laws you refer to aren't even laws in the reddest states and even if you think he should have been incarcerated, how many jails do you want to build to hold people charged with permitless, concealed carry? Do you sincerely believe that not being able to own a gun during the one year of probation would prevent this as well?

Let's just be honest, after Sandy Hook, we learned that the massacre of children is a bearable cost to you and your Merica First gun-fetish "patriot" bros, so they can cosplay on the weekends.

So don't you dare pretend like this is someone else's fault to deflect from your shame - don't you dare...

@Willence is human trash who thinks the answer to every problem is to do nothing. He no longer warrants the luxury of me trying to educate him. He is lost.

Oh, and you can also go **** yourself.

I am human trash? So disagreeing with you on a message board is all it takes to get to that point? Wow! I do have an answer to nearly every problem. It's called freedom and liberty. Not overly complicated. That way I don't have to know everything and those who do know about things can see their expertise rise to the surface and help all of us.

It is interesting that you think you have all the answers and I am no longer worthy of being "educated" by you. That's pretty rich. You indict yourself with your vitriol and if a message board can make you think I am human trash, I would say that the one who is lost is the one typing those words. Good luck brother! I don't think you're human trash. But I do know that you're lost. I bet if we ran into each other unknowingly, we'd each be very nice to one another. Isn't that a shame that you have chosen to take it to that point? If you ever want to talk, I am here for you!

Kinda bizarre that you've been a member on this site since 2006 and you just now started posting and decided this post and this poster in particular would be the thing that prompted you to start. This subject has been discussed ad nauseum on this board by him and many others, so I understand why he finds it pointless to argue it again here. It takes two sides to tango but only one side wants to actually solve the issue and that's a fact.

If you want to catch up on the discussion, this might be a good place to start.

Sorry I missed all of that. But a go **** yourself seems like his only solution.

The poster he was directing it towards deserves it too. I'll forgive you if you haven't been following along but he paints himself as the reasonable, unifier on the board when he actually pushes more buttons and provokes more fighting than anyone else here. So it was pretty disgusting for him to come screaming to the board after the latest mass shooting to blame it on the laws in Michigan, when that isn't the cause or the solution - he was just trying to start shit and NY called him on it.

No shit starting. Just pointing out the absurdity of reality. I didn't name anyone here. Just made an observation. You don't like me so that's your issue with it. And that's fine. I'll be happy to stand by my record. Some good takes, some bad but most of the time willing to be reasonable.

Actually it is the DEMOCRATS that not only want to do nothing, but actually do nothing even when they can. They do not pursue the charges or prosecute people for gun crimes. This is particularly true for people who already have criminal backgrounds/convictions. It is DEMOCRATS who encourage illegal gun possession.

Multiple times more murders could be prevented if we started charging/prosecuting/sentencing people for illegal gun ownership. However, DEMOCRATS don't really care about all the deaths in the black community or the kids killed in drive by shooting bc they know they already get those votes. There is nothing to gain for them, bc it is all about grandstanding, political posturing and getting votes for them - not about actually trying to save lives. If democrats were actually serious about stopping gun deaths with gun legislation/restriction, they would try to ban handguns - which account for the vast majority of gun deaths. Why have they not? The ONLY reason they have not is bc they know they would lose the support of a significant portion of their voters- which is their primary concern. At least people like @iceheart08 will come out and admit this fact. It is also why he only works for politicians and is not one, bc opinions like this immediately kill any political aspirations.

Mass shootings are terrible, abhorrent acts. However, they account for a miniscule percentage of deaths even within gun related deaths. Crazy people are going to find way to kill people even without guns- as recent "mass" killings from automobiles have shown.

Anyone with a modicum of intellectual capacity understands you commit resources to where you can do the most good. Secure the border and stop criminals from coming across and killing/raping citizens and you will probably prevent as many deaths as mass shootings. Secure the border and stop/reduce the flow of illegal drugs coming across the border and you will prevent multiple times the number of deaths from mass shootings in the reduction of overdose deaths- including thousands of kids. DEMOCRATS(politicians) don't give a crap about actually saving lives. If they did they would focus on things that would save multiple times more lives than trying to figure out how to stop a few crazy people from killing others.

Will some/any of you blasting Willy on here tell me WHAT about this OP is angering you?

The guy should have been 'put away'/handled when he was first arrested.
Courts set him free.

Current, on the books laws, could have handled him and this unfortunate situation long ago.

smh

Your rant is full of offbase reasoning that probably sounds reasonable to you, but it's bullshit. Just simple man's math. Much of what you try to tie together into one neat red bow isn't relevant or related. And some not even factual. Try to do better.

Put away for having a concealed weapon that wasn't registered? How long should a sentence be for something like that? In Texas this wouldn't even be a criminal offense but you think he should have been thrown under the jail? LMAO, sure man, that would have totally stopped him.

There were 2 charges.
The Felony was dropped on a 'deal' and the one you mentioned got probation.

Felony seems sorta serious to me. Huh?

The felony charge was for a concealed weapon and was pled down. Even if it wasn't, how long should a sentence be for something like that?

Him not owning a gun MIGHT be a start.
Determining why he was carrying, loaded, w/o a permit might have been a good start.

Neither YOU nor I determined what he was charged with/guilty of should be a Felony.
They did.
What time you would serve for that would have been previously determined by lawmakers.

He was charged with possession of a loaded firearm after cops found him carrying the gun without a concealed weapons permit on June 7, 2019.

McRae, 43, was initially slapped with a felony weapons charge —
which would have outlawed him from owning guns in the future if convicted, the Detroit Free Press reported.

However, he instead agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge and the felony rap was dropped as part of the deal with the Ingham County District Attorney’s office.

Once again, you fail to do any research or find out something about it before spouting off with your sarcasm and derision as though you are somehow informed and I am the irrational one. LOL

It's a felony charge in Michigan. It would have been up to 5 years in prison and he would have been unable to purchase weapons going forward. So yeah, it's a big nothing. NOT!

Here's a link to a lawyer's website talking about it.

Also, they allowed him to plea the charge down which allowed him to remain eligible to purchase firearms. Try educating yourself perhaps? :)

What makes you think I didn't know the full story already Pastor Willy? I also know the part that this happens a lot in many states because they don't have the capacity to hold every person convicted for crimes like these. That's the WHY of it that you're failing to acknowledge.

Don't ever accuse me of not doing my research when it's one of the reasons you "supposedly" put me on ignore, because you can't bullshit me and you know it.
