Consulate in Erbil. Fortunately, still under construction and not yet fully staffed.

I was there during the last ballistic missile attack January of '20. Crazy stuff. Long 4 hours knowing missiles were coming in but unsure where they were headed. Not sure if we were tipped off this time beforehand or not. In Erbil where I was the last time, we didn't have any bunkers or overhead structure so it was just sitting around waiting. We were at least tipped off but not sure if that made it better or not knowing we didn't have any protection. It at least gave us time to make a few calls, jic. Closest hit about a 1/4 mile from my location.

Seems Iran may be taking a card from Putin's deck. Similar situation, Kurdistan has always been contested land and Iran doesn't like the western presence and culture.

Will be interesting to see our response. Under Trump's regime, we took out Qasem Soleimani after a mortar attack killed an American at an air base. We didn't retaliate after the missile attack though but taking out Soleimani is what prompted the missile attack.

Crazy times.

Killing the Iranian general is the only language they understand. Yes they fired some rockets in retaliation but the Iranians were quick to try to deescalate the situation.

For the first time in my life the Iranians were worried about what the US might do, not the other way around.

And I didn’t always agree with Trump.

I have a feeling Joe won’t be quite as bold.

Missiles, not rockets. Big difference. That was that was the largest ever ballistic missile attack against America. And Iran may have been scared but don't think America wasn't either. I won't get into the weeds of it but we were not in a place to protect ourselves against further attacks had it escalated. We are now and were within a few months of the initial attack. Sure, we could have leveled them but at what expense to Americans that were on ground in Iraq at the time.

Either way, I'm sure Sleepy Joe will take care of it. Not.

Missiles were fired from Iran

They did NOT land near the US Consulate

On Sunday Iran’s Revolutionary Guards took responsibility for the attack on the US Embassy.
Less than three days after Iran bombed the US Army Base in Erbil the Biden administration reportedly gave the Iranian mullahs guarantees on the US ability to trade with Tehran.

Joe Biden and his handlers are determined to destroy America in three more years.
What evil we are witnessing.
