We wanted to pass along what we’d gathered through the day on Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic five-star tackle Cade Mays.
It wasn’t popular, but in the Monday Insider, we cited a source close to Mays indicating the prospect had expressed uncertainty Sunday night about which school he will pick – in other words, creating the first questions since his Georgia official visit that the choice might not be Clemson.
UGASports.com reported today that Georgia commitments have expressed confidence that the Bulldogs were landing Mays following the weekend.
That’s neither uncommon nor always indicative. But Mays’ mode of operation has been to be pretty candid, and in this case, it appears to have been telling.
Finally, in speaking with sources throughout the day and this evening, we can tell you from the Clemson side that there’s mounting expectation Mays will choose Georgia.
I can tell you that Mays has not communicated his decision to the Tigers’ staff.
