**New** (Paul) Clemson's QB Search Underway: The Candidates

The Catholic church is the largest private landowner in the world. They own 177 million acres of land.

There are 71 million Catholics in the United States. The vast majority of them have some allegiance to Notre Dame.

Clemson didn't lose Hebert to just anyone.
So you are saying they have been at this game for a lot longer than New$pring?

Agr
Agreed the Catholic pull is larger than folks are seeing! The kid is not only Catholic but a large # of kids from his school go to ND! As scholarship, walk-on & just academically. Not to mention he was probably not an option for them while they had the 4 star kid that just flipped to Aub! Sure the money played a role, but there are tons of connections to ND.
Do I, as a Lutheran pastor, need to write a few things that's wrong with the Catholic church?

You have the attention of a grandson and nephew of former Lutheran pastors, and who is a Catholic convert now with a kid at Notre Dame (thank you, large ND endowment) hahaha.
As a Baptist preacher, let me respectfully point out several problems with Catholic doctrine. I would encourage you to read these Bible verses for yourself and consider what they teach verses what the Catholic catechism would teach. I know Catholics are not encouraged to read their Bibles, which is very disappointing, considering it is the only source of truth that man has for spiritual insight.

The Bible says there is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5 This verse alone destroys the idea that Mary is the mediator between us and God.
The Bible teaches that salvation is by Grace through Faith, and not of works, lest anyone should boast, it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8-9. This destroys the Catholic teachings of keeping the sacraments to earn salvation.
The Bible says to call no man father for you have one father, which is in heaven. Matthew 23:9. This destroys the idea of a Pope.
The Bible teaches that baptism comes after faith in Jesus Christ. Acts 8:36-37 this destroys the Catholic teaching of infant baptism.

Bruh, I didn't actually mean to take time to go after Catholic doctrine.

Cringe No GIF

As someone who grew up with very Southern Baptist grandparents and attended an ELCA church with friends as a teen, this interaction is too on the nose.
It’s pretty funny to me that people will spend hours discussing their viewpoints on NL, the transfer portal, and the issues with college football, but as soon as I discuss differences of doctrine in the most important subject ever, ridicule starts immediately. Just confirms that this is a spiritual battle With real spiritual forces opposing truth.

Sir this is a Wendy’s…

Sir, the place and time to "discuss" doctrine is NOT on a message board. Its better done face to face and with grace and love.
You really think the way to "discuss" with those of different faiths is to denigrate their practices online?

Respectfully, A Baptist Pastor

Kid may be goofy looking to you but he appears to be a winner. I don't follow high school football but as far as I know they are undefeated this year and won the state championship last year with Woods under center.
Good QB name. And you’d be stealing him from Uof.

Show me where I denigrated anyone. I explained differences. The truth offends without any extra effort. We don’t hide our relationship with Lord behind the walls of our churches. It’s always acceptable to God for us to present the truth.

The sheer audacity of coming to a message board and calling out the guy we all pay money to hear from by telling him you know he doesn’t read his Bible because he’s Catholic so you’ll point out “the truth” for him is….breathtaking…

"This destroys" was used four times. Sounds rather denigrating when written to someone you dont know.
But hey, be that preacher on the corner that shouts at people as they walk by, if that's your calling.

And remember, God says to speak the truth in love. Eph 4:15

We openly discuss NIL, transfer portal and our issues with college football because this is, you know, a college football message board. I don’t expect to come here and discuss my faith, just as I wouldn’t go to a message board dedicated to Christianity and talk NIL or transfer portal.

It is not a spiritual battle with forces opposing truth. It’s a college sports message board.

SAME TEAM, SAME TEAM, my brothers in Christ haha.

I mean, the contention on Catholics and the Bible is patently inaccurate. I’ll go ahead and respond to that one.

As the saying goes, I know plenty of people who disagree with Catholicism. I know many more who disagree with what they think it is.

Suppose I opened the door for that kind of post with my response. So that is on me. I don’t think he was coming after me … or didn’t take it that way, at least. Matters of doctrine are worth discussing … in the right place, and in the right manner.

With that, let me ask that we turn further conversation in this thread back to Clemson QB recruiting.

WHICH COULD USE YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS, AMIRITE?

Boom

Like as in the Big Bang Boom

I have heard, in a round-about way from a UNC beat writer, that Mack tried to resign after the JMU loss but was talked out of it.

But will at end of year.
He has to be miserable. No way he comes back. They will slow play it for recruiting of players and to survey the field for coaches. We need to stealth this guy now. Give our most recent DL defection a 24 hour window to return with no penalty. If not, adios and move on.

How about the question phrased another way that Paul might be able to answer (unless I missed something). Did anyone on your list reach out after the decommitment. That way you don't have to out someone.

It's not just Catholics that do infant baptism. We Episcopalians/Anglicans do as well.

Do we need to meet at Wachovia?

King Charles and the British royal family are actually the largest private land owners in the world with an astounding 6.6 billion acres.

Great response Paul ! You are better man that I am in the way you handled this .

Let’s rescue this thread, what do y’all think of Trump vs. Kamala?
Trump!!

What's the difference? Y'all both go by the holy Trinity correct?
