*Preface by saying I have never had a car payment outside of the one I bought after college, so not familiar with what direction is best. Buy new or used and when to trade (not upside down)
My company is doing away with our company trucks and going to a vehicle allowance. This didn't seem like that big of a deal but man buying a new car is insane. They never have the model you inquire about that you have seen online due to an excuse (already bought, add ons to the truck has added additional costs, etc. Let me lay down some basics that might help:
Car will be in my name
8k down (company given)
1250$/month (company given)
10 cents/mile (I usually drive 35-40k/year) 60-80$ a week or 240-300$ a month for expenses (oil, insurance, tax, tires)
Should I continue the new route or look used? Looking at Silverado 1500 LT or LTZ. (Its what i have had for the last few years)
End of month best time to buy? Wait another month or two and let the 25's come out and have more wiggle room?
