I will also say, that I was in NYC this past weekend for Fanatics Fest. My first time to NYC since 2019. The city was much cleaner and felt safer than any of my past visits. On Sunday they closed huge sections of 6th Avenue and there were street vendors setup with all kinds of goods and foods. It was really neat.
There were also far less homeless people than I recall in past visits.
I mean … I was only there for 2 days, but based on just my basic observation … looks like Mayor Adams is doing a great job 🤷♂️

These entitlement programs have huge numbers of outright fraud and abuse. The problem is the system essentially rewards people for not doing their fair share. I’ve seen countless stories of a person not getting a job for fear of losing their section 8 housing. I’ve seen stories where parents discourage children from working for fear of losing entitlement benefits. That’s not helping, that’s downright socialism. These programs were designed to help citizens while they’re down or going through a rough patch, not to become the sole source of income and their occupation. The current system is a disaster. It’s ridiculous that hard working, tax paying citizens are expected to subsidize millions of people. Especially considering the people they’re subsidizing have it so good, they’ll do (or not do) anything to keep that government check coming. There’s so many more productive and responsible ways to actually help people yet liberals prefer the handout system mainly for votes.

The only problem they’ll have is that we didn’t have an open border to begin with. They don’t care about these people for the most part, they care about the optics of caring.
