New York Mayors Race

Why is it important that Europeans agree with you? Have you not seen the disaster that is the EU. The fact Europe disapproves of how we are doing things is a badge of honor. You should be proud.
It's not just Europe- we're a laughing stock on a global scale, and as the "leader of the free world" its not a good look. I know yall are super out on Globalism or whatever and think we should make America First. Well yeah, we all do.

But everyone sees the disfunction in America, and it all starts with Leadership. We're a joke. Our leaders are jokes. Our country is turning into a joke. MAGA needs to wake up and realize this.

Not one of our resident libs wants to touch this one huh? lol.
I've considered it, but know it will devolve into the regular bs thats divided the ideologies for decades. There's pretty clear data and evidence of a myriad of different ways minorities have less opportunities, rights, and benefits, but they have been debated and disputed for a long time on both sides. The talking points are pretty set in stone at this point, and the regime in charge could care less, so what's the point?

The only problem they’ll have is that we didn’t have an open border to begin with. They don’t care about these people for the most part, they care about the optics of caring. People that truly care about stuff do things about it, they don’t demand that others waste their time and resources on it. People that care are actionable and not playing on message boards all day. Don’t waste your time with this. If this was as important as they claim all these guys would have third world immigrants living with them, providing jobs and housing, paying for their families, etc. Do you think one of them has lifted a finger? The answer is no. Hypocrites.
I do 20hrs/month of pro bono legal counseling for immigrants currently trying to navigate the immigration process. But please tell me more about how I don’t do anything.

So this guys a joke now but the one that has Alzheimer’s and ran the country like a fifteen year old lesbian isn’t a joke? That’s your position. A guy that eats ice cream on the beach, talks about corn pop and shits himself, that’s acceptable but not Trump. Got it. We are the greatest country in the world. Not one other countries opinion matters at all, they’re all looking up at us. I don’t listen to criticism from those I wouldn’t ask for advice from. No different than a guy that does eye exams telling me I don’t understand economics.

You should share the empirical data that you have, it’s unavailable anywhere. I remember when universities lowered their test scores for admissions for white kids don’t you?

Why are we the greatest country in the world? The only thing we’re number one in is the number of incarcerated citizens and defense spending.

We’re like 60th in infant mortality, call it 20th in literacy, second in exports, and around 100 for mathematics.

This seems like a good topic for a nice healthy discussion.

Objectively, neither party satisfies these requirements. And trump is as far away from them as Bernie.

Agree neither satisfies, but disagree Trump and Bernie are equally as far from it.

  • Bernie wants to take more money from my family. Trump does not.
  • Bernie wants to expand social entitlements. Trump generally does not.
  • Bernie believes in expanded government, examples include Medicare for All.
  • Bernie believes in enabling people with handouts.

Bernie is pretty much the polar opposite of my positions on all of those things. Trump has much better alignment.

Yeah, i'll never get the obsession with Europe. Let them be Europe, that is fine. But we are awesome here in the USA. It is the land of innovation, the land of freedom, and the land of opportunity. Europe lags behind us in so many things. It's a nice place to visit but i wouldn't want to live there.

They should leave and move there if it’s so great and if their opinion is so important. I would never live in the state of SC if I felt like these guys claim they feel. I bet they’re just full of it and want to whine bc mags is mean.

The fact that he can’t see the difference tells you all you needed to know.

Fine. Maybe I'm remembering back too far. You didn't overtly criticize him in this thread. You say you are not MAGA though but yet you apparently support almost every plank of the platform. Might as well proudly be MAGA instead of straddling the fence imo.

I do generally support most positions, but there are also a number of areas I differ:
  • I don't support no tax on tips
  • I don't support no tax on overtime
  • I don't support the reckless nature of how tariffs were implemented. Surgical, strategic tariffs do make a lot of sense IMO, but that approach wasn't ideal.
  • I'm less of an isolationist than MAGA
  • I don't support simply mass deportation of all illegals. I think there should be a path to legal work status (not citizenship) for illegals who have been here for X years, have paid taxes, haven't broken the law, have worked in a necessary field and have a letter of recommendation from their employer. Make it a one-time shot to sign up so as not to incentivize others to come. And they are ineligible for entitlement programs or any government assistance.
  • I don't like the erosion of relationships with our European counterparts
  • I don't like the rhetoric, the behavior and some of the unprofessionalism

I think there's a difference between opportunities and rights. To answer my own question, there are zero rights that a white person has that a minority does not. Zero.

You can certainly argue opportunities. You could also argue them for poor whites. It's largely socioeconomic vs race IMO. And I think we need to accept the reality that there are some cultural elements holding back broader opportunities from some certain minority groups.

I’m happy here, but a couple countries I’d probably live in are Costa Rica, Germany, France, Switzerland, and Iceland. Have friends/family that have lived in those areas for extended periods and have all had a great time. I also had a good time when visiting. For what I do, the US is the best option.

I would support if they can conclusively prove it in court with a Bondi prosecutor.

President Trump should invoke the Communist Control Act to BLOCK Zohran Mamdani from becoming Mayor of New York

We HAVE to play hard ball.

DOJ can EASILY establish communist ties, given Mamdani openly boosted a communist group and called for a communist mayor.

He should also lose his status as a naturalized citizen, given he began associating with communists within 5 years of becoming a U.S. citizen.

When will we see the Trump admin designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization?

@ZohranKMamdani is funded by the Muslim Brotherhood via Islamic PACs.

He is a subscriber of Twelver Shia Islam, the same form of Islam the Ayatollahs in Iran subscribe to.

You could literally bar Zohran from running for office and criminally charge him if you designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist org.

He is backed by groups who were identified as being pro HAMAS and affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood during the Holy Land Foundation terrorism trial.

Why has this not happened? @realDonaldTrump @JDVance

And on this point, I view it differently. Enabling people isn’t helping them. It’s the opposite. Handouts may be “acting” like you care, but causes harm in the long run.

Give a man a fish or teach a man to fish and all that.
Enabling people with government hand outs is just another form of slavery.

The reason they make the argument of rights is because it has to be someone else’s fault. They do not believe that poor decisions, poor behavior or as you put it, cultural elements, are the reason for the lack of “success”, “acceptance”, or whatever it is. When in fact it’s the sole reason in a lot in instances. The mere fact that you would even type that will have many of them thinking you’re racist. They don’t want to look in the mirror at what they’ve done to certain communities, easier to blame others. It’s like you posted earlier - responsibility and accountability are important, those aren’t progressive traits.

I think you also have to acknowledge or at least think about the effects of the entitlements themselves in keeping people in the lower socioeconomic classes. If entitlements actually caused upward mobility, they would be great. They don't. They just keep people poor.

There are millions of smart, able bodied men and women that are out of the workforce because of entitlements. Those programs and policies eroded the ambition of millions, we’ve taken our greatest resource (American people) and enslaved them.

Looking like Adams is going to run as an independent. Dem vote is going to split, me thinks. Repub might just have a chance.

Not sure that will matter with rank choice voting

Good point'. I was thinking traditional D v. R race, not ranked choice rules. Then you have Cuomo who might try again as an independent as well. Plus i think there is at least one real independent. So could be a 4 or 5 way general election.

With all that craziness and the dem nominee being a muslim radical (you may disagree with that label), i think it's more than likely that nobody gets 50% out of the gate, so then it becomes important who people rank as their #2 and 3 choices etc. (if they rank at all)

I'm here to stay as a natural born American with constitutional rights. I know you are an active supporter of replacing us with hordes of 3rd world illiterate illegals but we will not let it happen. Go enjoy your feelings and have a good day.

Ahhh. So he has to leave the country because he has a different opinion but the 10’s of millions that came here illegally deserve to become full blown citizens. Interesting take, shocking your side was destroyed in the election.

In the same way, you think we want to live somewhere else just cuz we're a laughing stock to the world and think our president is a joke?

Literally what you're condemning ice for is the same accusation you threw at me.

Here’s your #1 problem: NO BODY CARES WHAT THE WORLD THINKS! THIS IS THE USA!

You think that people who support this POTUS, give a shit about what you say.

You think that people give a ‘ish what France says, Germany, Spain (in more recent news).

Why don’t you live in Europe? They align with you.

Not quite. I said if Europe is so admirable, and the opinions of those people matter more to you or anyone else it may make sense to look at relocating.

I’m not following in the ice thing.
