I am aware that the house settlement means that non-football men’s teams normally restricted on scholarship numbers can offer more, but that the number of players is more limited. Recently one of our soccer players left to go to usc. Maybe that had a little $ tied to it who knows. I do know first hand of one soccer player getting six figure NIL in south Florida. I think sports like baseball and soccer are in similar boats.
Can anyone comment with knowledge in regards to what is actually happening in regards to these two sports and if it is generally true that more scholarships are being offered compared with the past? And also if there is any NIL money being tossed around? I know it’s probably $zero or close to it, but just curious how this is shaking out for these two sports. Thank you for any info!
