NIL and the portal seems to have done something previously not thought about. Its pretty much frozen alot of hot seats. I think we may have as many resignations as we do true firings. In the coming age of revenue sharing with NIL, who can afford buyouts? Could it also be that the thought that this years 4-7 record could get turned around quicker with a few portal acquisitions rather than a regime change? In the past maybe your HC took the brunt for bad recruiting or player acquisition and retention. Maybe now its your so-called GM.

Up until Mack Brown there were like 4 Group of 5 firings and no firings of Power 4 coaches. I do also wonder if the bench is a little shallow for a job where you almost don't know the parameters anymore given you have to believe the school you are going to can actually fund the revenue sharing.

I think the big Question going forward is how are schools that simply don't have a deep bench of profitable revenue sports actually share revenue to begin with? If you are a potential HC candidate for a school with an opening, how much are going to do in due diligence to make sure you haven't just become the fall guy for a poorly run ad four years from now?
