I just read through the post game interviews and I find Coach Elliot's a little disturbing.
All good OC's have answers. They have answers to different fronts/stunts/blitzes/coverages. What makes guys like Chad Morris, Gus Malzahn, Spurrier, and even Paul Johnson very good is the fact that they know their system so well that they can counter (or answer) a look in the blink of an eye. It becomes instinctual.
Coach Elliot admits in the presser that ND "took some things away in the pass game". Well, what did they do to take those things away coach? Whatever they did, I can guarantee you that it opened up some other opportunities. Tony/Jeff/Dabo looked tonight like they didn't have answers for ND defense. That is concerning.
Maybe they were giving us the deep ball and we just were not comfortable putting the ball up? I don't know....but we did well enough in the run game to stave off the Irish. Hopefully, that run game will carry us until we can get the rest figured out......
If we ever get it all put together on offense, we have the defense to win it all! I have no doubt about that....
