can you tell me what is common sense about that? Assuming it’s my woke mind virus preventing me. I can usually see the point of view of people who disagree with me. But can’t place this one. Is he saying every mistake is due to Diversity Equity and Inclusion? I legitimately don’t understand why he jumped to that in this case. Unless he’s covering his own ass for firing a bunch of people due to DEInor something. I don’t get it.

Any DEI is too much DEI.

Any time wasted on DEI, and it is a waste, should be focused on doing the actual job.

It’s common sense that not hiring the best will result in less than the best results. We all want the best results.

Stupid argument - DEI doesn't mean that you hire less than the best - it just nudges you to take steps to make opportunities available to a wider group of people. The Right has worn this out now and the public is over this overt demonization that automatically frames people of color, women or the disabled as less capable. You're over-playing your hand.

Let me help you. Obama forced DEI into the FAA and since then, they have been running at about 75% of necessary work force. A highly technical job requiring high intelligence, excellent communication skills and quick thinking on your feet, under pressure. Every day an ATC is responsible for the safe passage of tens of thousands of lives.
When Obama intitiated DEI there were over 3,000 candidates that scored 100 o the proficiency test. They were all turned down, BECAUSE THEY WERE WHITE. The number of near misses since has gone up precipituously . In other words it was only a mattter of time before this happened.
In an interview Pete buttplug admitted he knew of this problem and did NOTHING. Peter poll smoker, Another DEI FAILURE! Trump abolished the DEI bullshit a soon as he got into office in 2016. The second Biden took office, the blithering idiot reinstituted them. On the night of the crash the Reagan tower was short handed. Shocking I know….
The Pilot was also a DEI special. Flying a very congested air space with multiple restrictions and required course corrections. She (a left wing lesbian UNC grad with radical social media posts) had less than 500 hrs in the seat. A ridiculously low number for that assignment. She ignored warnings for over a minute, was over a mile off course and flying way over the required 200’ ceiling.
In short, Trump clearly knows about this problem from his first term and he knows why. So yah, no stretch for him at all to say common sense, as I knew all this myself within 24 hrs of the collision, just from keeping up with current events.

So did ATC get fully staffed during Trump’s four years once he cancelled DEI in 2016? Then did they fire them all during Biden’s term? Then was this wreck at all the fault of ATC? Bc otherwise none of what you said is actually making a connection between DEI and THIS crash. You can think it’s an issue and hope that Trump and Duffy work on it while not saying it caused this crash. Blaming everything that happens you don’t like on Diversity Equity Inclusion and Accessibility initiatives is just strange without some reason to connect them. If ATC made a mistake here, and they were just exhausted, sure. I may disagree with the cause but there may be a correlation. Say you fired all their leadership or something, sure, worth mentioning. But otherwise, you can say it’s a problem but none of what you said connects the actual crash to DEI.

100% of people who confuse causation and correlation die.
