Venables is getting the job done in recruiting. However, I wouldn't trade classes. They don't have a defensive tackle committed yet (unless a big DE moves in) and that is a desperate need for them going forward. He has secured a high level quarterback and highly rated offensive linemen. The class has a very National flavor but not enough Texas recruits and only one player from Oklahoma. I am of the opinion you recruit your back yard first and then go national. He got linebackers from Virginia, Texas, and IMG academy. Todd Bates is not getting the job done. Venables may have to jettison him after this season and get someone with Texas connections.
