Anyone seen it? What did you think?

Thanks.

Lol this guy

It seems like every single one of your opinions are terrible.

sry that i'm not crazy about shitty movies that perpetuate the myth of america as the noble world police civilizing savages in the middle east. oh, and chris kyle was a pathological liar and kind of a lunatic. him being portrayed as some sort of hero is bonkers.

True that. They are a different kind of savage. No point in even trying. Should just turn the whole place to glass.

I saw it last night - it is one of the worst movies I have seen in years (has nothing to do with the subject matter or political viewpoint). It is completely Clint Eastwood's fault. About 10 minutes of the movie are devoted to the train, the rest is the back story of the three American heroes. The writing was terrible and the acting was bad as well. You would understand and excuse the three guys playing themselves lack of acting chops because they aren't professionals, but the rest of the cast were poor as well. I'm not sure if there actually was a script, but if there was the writer should find another way to make a living.

This movie seems like a movie made by a first year film student as their end-of-semester project, using their friends as cast and crew. If that's what it had been, you would say "Not bad, pretty good effort. You'll get better from here." But for a film made by professionals it was woefully lacking. The three cast members playing themselves deserve none of the blame.

Also, I'm not saying that their story isn't worth telling - it certainly is. Their bravery saved a lot of lives that day. If you want to know their story, television news does a better job. This story was told very poorly

I found the movie highly offensive because the Americans attempted to hurt the Muslim after getting him to the ground. There's a more peaceful way to subdue a terrorist .

Dude , someone kick same in your face?

I actually kind of agree about American Sniper. Really tough to make Chris Kyle a hero when you do some research into the amount of lies and untruths he told in his book. Guy had real issues.

Was waiting in line to buy tickets. Dropped $20. Someone picked it up so I stole their popcorn and big Dr Pepper.

Good for you. You made out like a bandit. Prolly doubled your $ since concessions are ridiculous. :)

I like lunatics defending me.

it's fine to think he was a good "soldier," i guess. but it's pretty ridiculous to make a biopic about the guy and not address his dehumanization of brown people or some of the more outlandish lies he made up. i.e. when he claimed to have sniped 30 looters during katrina.

the movie sucks because it doesn't actually address any of the nuances or complexities of war. it paints a completely us vs. them mentality, where defeating these non-descript brown people is only accomplished through the heroism of the individual. and it's an individual who happens to be pretty goddamn deranged.

I don’t disagree. Haven’t seen the movie. Also laugh at the notion that he sniped people during Katrina. Just know that in a volunteer army you are going to have a bunch of people with screws loose joining up.
