i need some help. I know there are some former high level players on this board. Some that have probably seen plenty of ups and downs.

My son is 16, plays high level club soccer. 10th grade. Club team is very good. He made and started for the national all star event. Practice is 4 nights per week. Games all over the place. Practices very hard at home. Every day. Most weekends are consumed. He has some trials coming up in just a few weeks in Europe with big clubs. He has an EU passport. Lots of D1 interest (not even an email from Clemson).

He has lost interest I think. Lots of pressure. I don’t think from myself and wife. We are “go do your best” type parents. I am having a hard time figuring out what is best, but leaning towards making this season his last. Unless he has a change of heart and WANTS to keep going. He seems to have genuine interest in this Europe trip. But he wants the current club thing to end. He does say that if he could magically go play with all star group he would love it. Pretty sure he recognizes he is missing a lot of family events. Close to grandparents and they are in 80s and starting to struggle some. Etc. He talks about just getting a teen job or coming home to cut grass as something he wants to do.

Hard for me to recommend quitting. I have so far told him he has to finish the season. Which runs 11 months including post season. Last year they got 5 weeks off between seasons. I lean towards letting him not play and see if he misses it. Any and all input appreciated.
