I've cook many hogs, smoked numerous meats but have only made hash one time. Turned out okay, but looking for other recipes to try. I've seen a copy cat of Duke's, but the corn ingredients throw me for a loop. ![Er... what? o_O o_O](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
I used a potato based hash recipe(below). Looking to try a few different ones and preferably one with liver. Figured I'd see what I get with the numerous amounts of chef's we seem have on board here. (feel free to point me to previous topics, if already discussed, my apologies)
2 lbs shredded or chopped pork butt
2 lbs roast meat, shredded or chopped, any type
2 lbs onions
1 28 oz can of tomatos
5 white potatos, peeled and diced into chunks
3 T salt
3 T black pepper, freshly ground
1 T garlic powder
1/4 c Worcestershire sauce
1/8 c cider vinegar
Directions
1. Brown the meats
2. In a skillet, cook the onions until just translucent.
3. Add all the other ingredients, and then cover with water.
4. Simmer for about an hour, or until the potatoes start to break up.
