OT...Loving the rise in diesel prices....

Must be our brilliant Prez who shutdown the Keystone Pipeline after it’s over 90% complete. Going to kill the economy.
And for the brainiac morons that voted for this, WTF have you people got to say for yourselves? Skip the environment argument because the technology to replace fossil fuels isn't available and won't be for a decade or more....and that's running balls to the wall.

I mean, I can't really put all of the blame on Biden even though he is the one in charge. He was pretty upfront with his policies and views on certain things. So it's not shocking that any of this is happening. It was expected if he was elected.

Well.... Here we are. He is doing what he said he would do and bending the knee to the most extreme people in his party as expected....

I don't want to hear one Dem complain though. Those voters are the reason we are where we are with regards to fuel pricing and inflation and a multitude of other blunderous policies.

Yep. I'm loving these high prices on everything these days. $10 Happy Meals coming soon too!

Gov't can stick the Green EV crap where the sun don't shine!
Wait until the government figures out how to tax those EVs that people are enjoying avoiding paying road taxes on currently. Just a hunch but I bet it will cost more than the gas taxes did on their petroleum cars.

But in spite of what everyone here has posted, he's such a more "inclusive" President than what we had. Which is correct, we are all feeling it. You shouldn't be focused on all the inflation, instead you should feel better about yourselves.

LOL, just this week Chipotle announced they would have to raise prices to combat the "investment" they were making to their employees (that's right, its not a wage increase, it's an "investment"). IE, they have to pay them more to overcome the extra benefits from staying at home. Wait, I was told this wouldn't happen.........

keystone pipeline has basically been a dead construction project for the last like 10 years. Rise in fuel prices has WAY more to do with increased demand from around the world that is starting to travel again

Also - give me higher fuel prices if it means not destroying the environment. We only get one, and it's not supposed to be sucked dry for our own personal economic gain. Money ain't everything

This^^^.

and I don’t see us having any EV’s in ten years that can pull 1500 of liquids, which is what my crew does on the reg.

May consumer prices up 5%, highest since summer of '08. Mostly predictable given the past year. And yet the S&P 500 sets a new record this morning. Interesting times.

It will be through general income tax increases (primarily on the "rich"). Don't get me started on how the government confuses income and wealth. . Liberals will never go for an ev tax or any type of use tax

There are ways to make money or at least secure your savings. If you are in the stock market and getting an 8% return and real inflation is 9 or 10 the you are-1. Hopefully you got into a commodity etf. 20-30% in gold and/or silver. Read up on Basel III reclassified gold as tier 1 set to take place later this month. Russia and China are buying gold by the shipload.

SC already has an EV tax of $120 per year. Expect it to go up as more get on the road.

Predictable reply if nothing else. In your heart of hearts do you believe Biden and Harris have been doing a great job since inauguration or do you have a few doubts?

interesting commentary from our Investment Institute yesterday that oil producers / refiners are going to be disincented to produce more, even with rising prices and demand. In other words, supply is going to be capped by policy.
Wish I could take some of you into my Sacramento meetings and have you see what's going on at the granular level via legislation and sometimes subtle changes to regulations...all to financially squeeze out oil producers/refineries and other "dirty" manufacturing sectors out here. Battery recyclers, metal plating facilities, and Refineries, especially. One of the current moves is to modify the financial assurance regulations and eliminate the Self-Test in favor of insurance or (what they really want) a fully funded trust.

And this link would suggest that the technology to replace fossil fuels will NEVER happen:

GO TIGERS!

Because of my background & work experience, the production & waste issues are the ones that always make me SMH. No pun intended, but the waste issue is always an afterthought...from batteries to coal ash to nuclear fuel pellets. I still have people asking me when we're moving our spent fuel cannisters to Yucca Mountain so we can get them "off of the beach".

LOL At Liberals. Common sense and Liberals dosen't go together. Let me make a product I can make money on but I'd rather pay someone else to make the product for me. That's basically what the Dumb Nuts done.

that is a very in-depth and nuanced view you have there sir. Must have taken a lot of research and education to get to that conclusion

Ever heard of comparative trade advantage? Probably not, but essentially both countries in a trade deal can purchase goods/services cheaper if they produce what they have an efficiency advantage in and let the other country produce what they have an efficiency advantage in

So, a third grader might say "why buy something we can produce ourselves"? When an educated person knows it is much, much more complex than that

or NOT. 3 fvcking guesses why it's so and the first 2 don't count.
Did you just start buying diesel in the last year? Prices are still below 2018-2019 levels and well below 2012-2014. I would argue that all the green initiatives and reduced tax breaks for energy companies will raise prices in the intermediate term, but acting like the last 12 month increase is all on Biden is a bit of a stretch. There is a real easy way to get those prices back down, shut down the economy again.

Hope you don't think you're smart as you think you are.

I deliver diesel fuel and home heating oil which is just dyed diesel. The prices now are a hell of a lot cheaper now than they were a few years ago. BTW, diesel is a whole lot cheaper to produce than gasoline.

It’s a bunch of idiots who voted for him because they bought into the narrative of biased media coverage. Surprised CNN didn’t try to get Trump charged with the Kennedy assassination

Bull shit. Inflation definition = "too many dollars chasing too few goods". Econ 101. All libs are economically retarded. I swear, every damn one is. Price of ALL goods is increasing. Buy groceries lately? Been out to eat? Probably no, t living in Mom's basement collecting your "guvment" check. You push out trillions of dollars in checks and asking for more, wtf you think happens Einstein.

Didn't feel like scrolling up to see who mentioned Chipotle increasing their prices to cover the increase in wages, but, yeah. 4% more.
Your burrito now costs $9.32. Hope the economy can handle it.
