OT...Loving the rise in diesel prices....

US EPA and The Army Corps of Engineers just changed wetlands policy. As rapid change as I have ever seen by the Feds as they just changed policy in 2020.

Bull shit. Inflation definition = "too many dollars chasing too few goods". Econ 101. All libs are economically retarded. I swear, every damn one is. Price of ALL goods is increasing. Buy groceries lately? Been out to eat? Probably no, t living in Mom's basement collecting your "guvment" check. You push out trillions of dollars in checks and asking for more, wtf you think happens Einstein.
haha my friend I can guarantee you I have more econ education than you. I also do not frequent my mom's basement

LMAO At Einstein. This is what you voted for the leaders of the free world so I wouldn't be talking to much. The Whore and the Racist.

1 - you have no idea who I voted for

2- good diss with Einstein. I guess being educated about what I am talking about is a bad thing?

3- way to completely change the argument because you lost. That's called a red herring, in case you didn't know

4- please don't call women you do not know whores. That makes you a bad person, and now I don't feel bad at all for coming at you and outing you as the uneducated, bigoted individual that you are

that is a very in-depth and nuanced view you have there sir. Must have taken a lot of research and education to get to that conclusion

Ever heard of comparative trade advantage? Probably not, but essentially both countries in a trade deal can purchase goods/services cheaper if they produce what they have an efficiency advantage in and let the other country produce what they have an efficiency advantage in

So, a third grader might say "why buy something we can produce ourselves"? When an educated person knows it is much, much more complex than that
When an autocratic government subsidizes entire industries and steals IP it makes "comparative trade advantages" a lot easier. Comparative trade advantage works in the short-term and in texts books but it will always be to the detriment of the non-producing (consuming) country. It's why nation states rise and fall and rarely stay on top for extended periods of time. Sh*t James Goldsmith basically told us what would happen back in 94.

The fact the we are sacrificing our entire energy industry/independence while china, russia, iran, etc. are doubling down is going to be very problematic very soon. But hey, hopefully, china will still sell us the batteries and turbines to power our Evs and windmills....

Must be our brilliant Prez who shutdown the Keystone Pipeline after it’s over 90% complete. Going to kill the economy.

where do you get your information from? The keystone pipeline was only about 10% completed.

And honestly, I don't understand what the issue is. It was going to create maybe 20K short term jobs, and it surely was going to help rich US Steel barons. But it was also going to flood our market with cheap canadian oil, thereby hurting american energy producers.

It’s a bunch of idiots who voted for him because they bought into the narrative of biased media coverage. Surprised CNN didn’t try to get Trump charged with the Kennedy assassination
The old it's CNN's fault narrative. Because you are a brainless deplorable, I suppose you didn't notice that he took time out of every day to insult and slander 55% of the population. In addition, we didn't need a cable tv station to tell us he was an abomination - he told us himself with his news conferences and twitter feed. The percentage of the population that you don't belong to is a hell of a lot smarter than you and we don't need to be led by the nose.

I am not a poor so I just buy gas instead of going on sports websites to complain about the price.
I am not a poor either but there are certainly a lot of people that struggle to make ends meet and the rising cost of goods and high inflation is not exactly lighting their world on fire

Angry man saying angry things. Good for you

Haha okey dokey bud. Enjoy our economy sink like the titanic because we have a guy with a giant mushy turd for brains running this country

I sleep a hell of a lot better now that he's in charge. I don't have to worry about him overthrowing our democracy, encouraging murder or advising people to inject bleach. Sorry you miss the orange ape.

keystone pipeline has basically been a dead construction project for the last like 10 years. Rise in fuel prices has WAY more to do with increased demand from around the world that is starting to travel again

Also - give me higher fuel prices if it means not destroying the environment. We only get one, and it's not supposed to be sucked dry for our own personal economic gain. Money ain't everything

Do not have to choose one or the other. Lame justification for this cluster.

Trump showed what US Energy can be taking us to become the worlds leading energy producer in short order and now China Joe is ripping it apart even faster. Its insanity.

Earth is more important than money
Once again its not either or. Use technology to keep the environment clean and when electric technology matures enough to displace fossil fuels then it will happen organically and we are most assuredly seeing progress in that direction without putting our nation at this current point in the poor house.

Gas prices hit a 7-year high as stations run out of fuel going into the 4th of July weekend.
But at least there’s no mean tweets.
The US national average price for regular gas is $3.10 per gallon – up 42% from this time last year.
“Today, 89 percent of US gas stations are selling regular unleaded for $2.75 or more. That is a stark increase over last July 4 when only a quarter of stations were selling gas for more than $2.25,” said Jeanette McGee, a AAA spokesperson reported the New York Post. “Road trippers will pay the most to fill up for the holiday since 2014.”

The New York Post reported:
Gas stations across the country are facing fuel shortages, driving prices to a seven-year high as more than 40 million Americans prepare to hit the road for the Fourth of July weekend.
The nationwide average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas hit $3.09 on Monday, the highest price Americans have been asked to shell out ahead of the holiday weekend since 2014, according to data from the American Automobile Association.

There are now reports of stations running dry or dangerously low as shipments are delayed in the Pacific Northwest, Northern California, Colorado and Iowa as well as Indianapolis and Columbus, Ohio.
“It used to be an afterthought for station owners to schedule truck deliveries. Now it’s job No. 1,” Tom Kloza, global head of energy analysis for the Oil Price Information Service, which tracks prices for AAA, told CNN.
“What I’m worried about for July is the increased demand works out to about 2,500 to 3,000 more deliveries needed every day. There just aren’t the drivers to do that.”

I was just flying overhead like a hawk looking for somewhere to pounce with this.

The issue of climate change has to do with man putting carbon back into the atmosphere and will this cause warming? The true answer is that it doesn't cause significant warming. The professor here explains.

I deliver diesel fuel and home heating oil which is just dyed diesel. The prices now are a hell of a lot cheaper now than they were a few years ago. BTW, diesel is a whole lot cheaper to produce than gasoline.

I don't know about cheaper to produce but if you just consider what comes out of a barrel of oil using straight distillation without hydrocracking you get two parts gasoline and one part distillate so just from that fact alone, you get twice as much gasoline as you do diesel/kerosene from a single barrel of oil.

So depending on how the transportation economy is set up demand wise, it would make sense that diesel is shorter in supply and thus more expensive.

These are the futures market crack spreads that refiners work with

For integrated oil companies that control their entire supply chain from oil production to retail distribution of refined products, their business provides a natural economic hedge against adverse price movements. For independent oil refiners which purchase crude oil and sell refined products in the wholesale market, adverse price movements can present a significant economic risk. Given a target optimal product mix, an independent oil refiner can attempt to hedge itself against adverse price movements by buying oil futures and selling futures for its primary refined products according to the proportions of its optimal mix.

For simplicity, most refiners wishing to hedge their price exposures have used a crack ratio usually expressed as X:Y:Z where X represents a number of barrels of crude oil, Y represents a number of barrels of gasoline and Z represents a number of barrels of distillate fuel oil, subject to the constraint that X=Y+Z. This crack ratio is used for hedging purposes by buying X barrels of crude oil and selling Y barrels of gasoline and Z barrels of distillate in the futures market. The crack spread X:Y:Z reflects the spread obtained by trading oil, gasoline and distillate according to this ratio. Widely used crack spreads have included 3:2:1, 5:3:2 and 2:1:1.[1] As the 3:2:1 crack spread is the most popular of these, widely quoted crack spread benchmarks are the "Gulf Coast 3:2:1" and the "Chicago 3:2:1".

they should have known to use technology to keep the environment clean. i bet they didnt think of that.
I got up at 4 am and started working on power plant stuff. Read your comment. I'm going to make another cup of coffee. Feel free to join us in making electricity. Not as simple as you think.
