Normally use this corner of Al Gore’s internet to crack jokes but looking for some advice this time. Got labs done yesterday for my annual physical and my LDL was pretty elevated (186). Family history of high cholesterol but I’m 33 and fairly healthy. Lift 3-4 times/wk, 20+ min of moderate to intense cardio 4-5 times/wk and eat fairly clean (lower carbs, limited red meat/eggs/dairy, good bit of fruits and veggies and nuts, drink some but not excessively. I carry a little extra weight but not fat and have swapped fat for muscle over the past year but LDL went up.

Doc is recommending medication but I’d like to try to get it under control without it so I’m taking the next 90 days to hit it hard before getting labs again to see if I can avoid meds.

Anyone had success lowering their LDL without meds? Any advice is helpful. Have a toddler that I’d like to be around to handle his NIL negotiations one day.
