Your terms are acceptable

I see your point of view, i really do. But i have a hard time believing that would have worked. Who has showed ANY willingness to work with Trump?
Big Gretch pissed off a lot of Democrats by working with him but I don't have a problem with it because even though I don't like it, he is the president.

Agreed. We need to stop with the refusal to work with the other side. We have far more in common than we disagree on, but we have to demand it.

Agree with this, but I think we will likely disagree as to the why.
His first term I could hear an excuse.

But his second term ….. the people spoke loud and clear. There is no reason not to work with him. He won.

I don’t expect democrats to work with him, but I sure as hell don’t expect anyone inside the government to work covertly against him. Which is what happened.

If you look at the pushback, it's hard to blame them. He is moving at an exceptional pace and truly "flooding the zone" with executive Orders. Add on top of that unprecedented global tariffs and basically starting a global trade war in a week ...

I really can't blame folks for wanting to slow some, much of this stuff is constitutional law that needs to be adjudicated. As we've all seen with NIL, you cant put the toothpaste back into the tube.

It was a smart move on her part in order to get what she needed for the citizens of her state and frankly they were bi-partisan issues they were working on. I doubt she appreciated being unexpectedly pulled into his news conference where he was criticizing Biden, but I'm glad she was cordial and made the best of it.

She acted like an adult, which in the current world of politics should be applauded.

I would agree with this if we all didn't know that if he doesn't get his agenda and policies set fast, he probably will not get them done. Mid-terms are usually two things.....a referendum on the Presidents policies, or people voting for a change in direction. It is really, really hard for any president to have congress in alignment as most Presidencies face a shift in congressional control during their presidencies. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it does make it impossible for Presidents to execute their agendas. I am not sure what the democrats ideas are for change, but a change in congressional majority is almost always on the table. Trump HAS to move fast.

I get that, but this is quite literally historic in the amount of stuff, all with Executive Orders. I don't blame anyone for slowing some with this amount of massive changes

Has not a large amount of US Treasury buying been generated from trade deficits from foreign countries. Do you think that participation rate will hold. Otherwise seems like fed balance sheet jumps?

Trump exempts electronics from Chinese tariffs. You know, the critical jobs it’s dire to bring back. What did China concede in return? Nothing

Art of the deal baby. Quit pretending he has any clue
We all see what’s gonna happen.

He messes up royally, talks like it’s great, changes course halfway, says he won bigger than anyone ever has, shows nothing has changed. Rinse repeat.

Trump reminds me a lot of Vince Offer

Man I couldn't believe it so just looked it up, crazy. Trump is out as normal to protect big companies who are going to benefit from this vs the SBOs...
I'm in general not a fan of tariffs but was fine with letting this China stuff play out, but he apparently didn't have the nuts to stay with it, disappointing.

The one area I support tariffs is National Security and leveling the playing field for some other targeted critical industries etc. Would seem electronics/chips etc is the exact thing we would want to tariff. Hopefully I’m missing something other than just Trump protecting his rich friends or donors or something.

lol yep. just another classic art of the deal moment. these MAGA voters are some of the most smooth brained morons to ever walk the planet.

Putting aside the economic and geopolitical damage, the tariff debacle is honestly hilarious. After inflation that resulted from a record surge of $ entering into the system was finally tamed, a new administration unwinds the progress, damages our reputation on the international stage, and temporarily if not permanently impairs our economy in just a few months. There was extremely limited strategy for a complex problem.. I can’t recall any politician being more exposed in such little time by their own doing.

Can you show us where the progress on inflation “unwinded”

What you mean is that you think it will unwind, which it hasn’t.

Let the man cook.

Yall are listening to the people that got us into the position we are in. There are more than one way to skin a cat. The old way wasn’t working.

Inflation is a giant maybe. And it has not come back yet.

And no one has been exposed, except China.

They have been exposed for kicking out ass.

Democrats have been exposed on USAiD. I closed on immigration. Exposed on inflation. The list goes on. They essentially weren’t governing.

I love how democrats scream about tariffs and inflation when tariffs have not brought inflation so far.

Remember, Trump used tariffs in his first term and inflation averaged 1.9%.

Trumps economic advisor says he can implant tariffs causing minimal inflation.

Democrats rushing to judgement risk looking silly in 2 years. Not that looking silly has ever concerned them before.

@ClemsonCO14 why the rush to judgement? Why the false claims of inflation returning?

Are you going to give Trump a fair chance? Or are you a Panican?

A good thread.

Kimball makes good points (seems to be speaking for Elon in some respects)

Kimball claims he thinks we got a good deal from the global trade. But how does America voting Trump in office jive with that opinion? Aren’t they telling you they got a BAD deal? I.e. cheap tv’s in exhange for jobs ….. not so great for middle America.

A good thread nonetheless

Man people who are supporting Trump and these tariffs either no nothing about global economies or are purposefully being obtuse.

We are a service economy. Not a manufacturing economy. Building TVs and making clothing here will only increase costs drastically. And that won't be offset by jobs.

Ok. That’s fine. But let’s level the playing field.

China is eating our lunch.
