Correct. The first olympic USA basketball team manned by pros was the best, and it is one of the reasons that basketball teams from other countries are so much better now than the teams they played back in 1992. Almost 30 years ago ... Wow!

These guys and their apologists have brought this hate on themselves. When you alienate large segments of fans, you get what you get.
With that said, I am an American so I will pull for them to get it together. I am sure they will be better when the whole team is there, and they will improve as they play together and figure out the refs. I actually love international basketball, and I can't wait to watch the Olympics!

It's pretty simple really. True American Patriots will not ever support anyone who disrespects the country. Disagree with things - sure we all do that. Publicly disrespect the flag or anthem- you've crossed a line that true patriots will not condone. It's that simple.
International basketball is rapidly changing. That Nigeria team had 8 NBA players on it. The team will be fine once the games start,but the days of massive blowouts like the Dream Team experienced are probably gone.

People who think criticizing our country is disrespecting it don't know the first thing about patriotism.
Criticism and disrespect are 2 totally different things. People can voice opinions and critique all they want...no qualms there. It's the physical acts of kneeling/turning back to flag/talking during anthem/refusing to stand for flag or anthem - that's a blatant act of disrespect and goes way further than criticism.
