OT: The family is trying to talk me into a boat…any suggestions?

We need to be able to fit 8-10 comfortably and mainly for saltwater inlets and lakes. No deep sea fishing type deal. Just a good leisure boat for entertaining.
Any suggestions on boat type, engine type and size, length, etc., would be helpful.
