We do not have a single offensive coach that would be on staff of a current top 20 team. We also have at most 2 players who would start a top 20 team on offense.
My high school had a legendary soccer coach, he always had 1 to 3 volunteer former player assistants on his staff. But his staff had elite level club coaches that all could have easily been head coaches at other programs. The JV coach was an elite coach and great club coach. The goal keeper coach was fantastic and coached multiple club level teams.
I share this because Clemson’s coaching staff seems like a high school staff but then I think back to a successful high school program and realize we are actually worse. No championship team is built the way we are.
I’m thankful for everything Dabo has done, Clemson needs him to change now.
