Tank battles on rolling plains is great grist for a Hollywood blockbuster, but the real peril for Ukraine has been on display over the last two days–Russia’s hypersonic missiles, cruise missiles and air launched rockets mangling power nodes and military headquarters throughout Ukraine. The Russian strikes in the last two days significantly degraded Ukraine’s ability to supply electricity and critical heat to its major cities. The attacks also are disrupting Ukraine’s cell phone network and its ability to move troops and equipment from the west to the frontlines in the east.At the beginning of its full-scale invasion in Feb., Russia had around 3,330 operational tanks (2,840 with the ground forces, 330 with its naval infantry, and 160 with its airborne forces), according to the Military Balance 2021 database. . . .
However, Russia still has some 2,000 battle-ready tanks at hand, as well as an enormous amount in storage.
The Military Balance 2021 database says Russian storage facilities have around 10,200 tanks, including various T-72s, 3,000 T-80s, and 200 T-90s.

Then there is the nightmare scenario for Ukraine and NATO of Russia invoking the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and Russia asking Belarus to join the fray. Russian and Belarusian troops already are gathering on Ukraine’s northern border. Whether this is a bluff by Russia or genuine preparation for opening a new front in the north, the massing of forces requires Ukraine to deploy already depleted forces to the northern border. This will weaken Ukraine’s ability to hold off a Russian offensive in Kherson and Zaporhyzhia. The United States will soon be unable to supply Ukraine, as it has up to now, with the sophisticated equipment essential for its defense against Russia as its reserves are reaching their limits, especially in terms of ammunition. . . .
But US stockpiles of certain equipment are “reaching the minimum levels necessary for war and training plans” and getting weapons stockpiles back to pre-invasion levels could take years, Mark Cancian wrote in a recent analysis. of the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
Washington is “learning lessons” from the conflict about ammunition needs in a very powerful war, and that it is “much larger” than expected, said a US military official who requested anonymity.

i could see the current occupying regime try something drastic to get us in a war footing. They are desperate and insane. Thats a bad combination. They will not let the US Ealection happen. They’re going to provoke Russia in some way that causes them to do something. It will force our hand and we’ll be at war before Elections.
They have to find a way to get the American People behind this war. Putin ain’t just backing down or giving up. It’s going to get ugly, folks.
Thats a pipe dream. Putin is KGB and he knows how all of this stuff works.Maybe this has been covered on other networks or I missed it, but why is there hardly any discussion of trying to take Putin out? Obviously very very difficult to do and would involve going into Russia, but wouldn’t that solve this whole thing?
In fact if I recall someone did try to poison him and his taste tester got sick from the food or something along those lines
It’s terrifying that you have been brainwashed to accept the Russian invasion of another country.Just an alternate analysis for all the neocon nut huggers on the board. Once again I just want this whole thing over with one way or the other. Did we ever get an outcome on the supposed vote of the citizens of the occupied territories on whether they wanted to join Russia or not?

Not to beat a dead horse, but most of the world has a delusional image in their head of the war in Ukraine. As I have written previously, much of the fault lies with Hollywood, which through a plethora of movies has conditioned the masses to think of war as the conquest of critical territory. But that is a misleading image when it comes to Ukraine. Yes, there are strategically important pieces of territory that must be captured or defended, but there also are vast swaths of plains (we call them prairies here in the United States) that are tactically difficult to control and, if you succeed in capturing an area of land, you create a problem of how to defend it.
Please take a look at the following video with this in mind. Although the video shows how Russia’s Wagner Group is building defensive lines, please focus on the general landscape rather than the work of the engineers:
See video on TGP
Russia has a decisive advantage over Ukraine when it comes to battling for this territory, even though it ceded some of it a few weeks ago to advancing Ukrainian troops. Why? Because Russia’s air force is still intact and can be used to attack massed Ukrainian units. Ukraine’s air capability has been eviscerated. Russia also enjoys a lopsided advantage in tanks. In case you have any doubts, the video above shows quintessential tank country.

The attacks also are disrupting Ukraine’s cell phone network and its ability to move troops and equipment from the west to the frontlines in the east.
Ukraine does not have a comparable capability to counter the Russian attacks. Moreover, the Russian missile barrage has highlighted the weakness, if not absence, of Ukraine’s anti-missile defense system. It is neither a mistake nor a coincidence that Russia’s strikes in major Ukrainian cities–more than 100 missiles– caused very few human casualties, especially on the civilian side of the ledger. Despite Ukrainian claims that Russia’s strikes killed civilians, the evidence suggests otherwise–Ukraine’s own anti-missile system failed to intercept the Russian targets and then fell to earth and hit apartments and schools.
What is the United States and NATO going to do? Immediately deploy the Iron Dome anti-missile system? Unfortunately, these Western anti-missile systems are not designed to defeat the missiles Russia is launching. Then there is the logistics problem–i.e., getting those systems deployed and training personnel to operate them. This will take weeks, if not months. And Ukraine does not have the luxury of time in this regard. Making matters worse, the United States and NATO do not have the reserves to quickly resupply Ukraine:
Then there is the nightmare scenario for Ukraine and NATO of Russia invoking the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and Russia asking Belarus to join the fray. Russian and Belarusian troops already are gathering on Ukraine’s northern border. Whether this is a bluff by Russia or genuine preparation for opening a new front in the north, the massing of forces requires Ukraine to deploy already depleted forces to the northern border. This will weaken Ukraine’s ability to hold off a Russian offensive in Kherson and Zaporhyzhia.
I believe that the events during the next five weeks will create a crisis within NATO and the United States. If Russia seizes the initiative and moves in force against Ukrainian units, NATO will not be in a position to rescue Ukraine from defeat on the battlefield. Any further intervention by NATO will make it, in the eyes of the Russians, a legitimate military target.
Compounding the military challenges confronting the United States and NATO, there are the economic and political headwinds. Joe Biden is likely to lose control of the House of Representatives and the Senate. If this happens, he will no longer have a congressional ally eager to keep shoveling money and weapons into Ukraine. The economic conditions throughout Europe of inflation and shuttering businesses will fuel more domestic unrest and diminish enthusiasm for keeping Ukraine afloat.
When you take all of these factors into consideration, the conclusion is clear–Russia enjoys a strategic and tactical initiative that will be difficult to surmount. Conversely, NATO is in trouble.

Tag me when you learn to stop rambling manically in your head and have a clear and concise point to make. FFSI'm happy to litigate the evils of the US in the name of fighting terrorism/communism. Plenty of neo-cons deserve a lot more scrutiny and I'd be totally fine with that.
That doesn't mean that Putin gets to invade another country and occupy that land, taking away their self-determination. If you want to defend Sadaam and the Taliban--that is a tough sell for every NRA, flag flying republican who kept yelling traitor to anyone questioning Iraq and staying in Afghanistan for the past like 20 years (war on terror, war on terror, war on terror). Remember when some dems wanted to shut down black sites and extra territorial incarceration and repubs/libertarians called them every name under the sun and wanted them hanged for treason...lol. (just beware here--you are taking on the position that liberals have held unpopularly for the past 25 years, arguing that liberals were right for the past 25 years...shaky ground on TI...lol). For the record, I am fine with a balance but always want increased transparency with govt policy.
But the real point remains--Putin has used NATO as a boogeyman. Russia could always join NATO but wanted to use it to create an us vs them battle with Europe and the West. Putin has always used this narrative. NATO has never attacked Russian soil (and no Crimea is not Russia). Putin has always wanted to take back Soviet territory--he has said it in his own speeches and this war has made that perfectly clear.
Would it be alright for Russia to use military force to take over Baltic states and make a landbridge with Kaliningrad? If you answer yes--then you are happy with Putin acting like a dictator akin to Stalin and Hitler. If you say no--then why does Putin get to try and march into Kyiv and assassinate the democratically elected president?
If Ukraine or any other country wants to be a part of a defensive alliance like NATO then that is their right. If you see Ukraine as a threat--then why are you, without provocation, invading the sovereign territory of Ukraine in 2014 and annexing the territory. No one is escalating this war other than Putin. No one. Bc only Putin has invaded another country's territory in the War. If that means Putin feels he HAS to use nuclear weapons because he is losing--he was going to do ANYTHING to win the war to begin with. That isn't anyone's fault except Putin's and those who won't provide the weapons and kit to stop him.

Putin isn’t a fvcking terrorists lmao. NATO has consistently lied and broken their agreements with Russia that they wouldn’t keep moving further East… And here we are. Now he’s pushing back. What did you think would happen?
End of the day you don’t know what Putin is planning, and nobody else does either. But it isn’t rocket surgery to think you should at least TRY to work out a deal when the literal annihilation of the human race is a very real possibility with all this
I can’t believe anyone would argue against that. It’s unbelievable

TRENDING: MUST WATCH: AOC Gets Absolutely Chewed Out By Former Supporters for Supporting Nuclear War and Funding Ukrainian Nazis (VIDEO)An explosion Saturday caused the partial collapse of a bridge linking the Crimean Peninsula with Russia, damaging an important supply artery for the Kremlin’s faltering war effort in southern Ukraine and hitting a towering symbol of Russian power in the region.
Nobody immediately claimed responsibility for the blast, which killed three people. The speaker of the Russian-backed regional parliament in Crimea accused Ukraine, but Moscow didn’t apportion blame. Ukrainian officials have repeatedly threatened to strike the bridge, and some lauded the destruction on Saturday. But Kyiv stopped short of claiming responsibility.

A lot of lies packed into this paragraph. For starters, it looks like the Biden team is engaged in psychological projection when it declares the Russia is pursuing “an imperialist foreign policy” intent on “overturning key elements of the international order.” What? Russia did not “invade” the Donbas in 2014. Ukraine did that. Russia did not unilaterally intervene in Syria, it was asked to provide military aid. It is the United States that violated the supposedly sacrosanct international order by helping engineer the coup that ousted the democratically elected President of Ukraine in 2014, overthrew the regime of Muammar Qaddafi and supplied weapons and training to radical Islamists in Syria that tried to oust Syrian President Assad. Pot calling Kettle Black anyone?Over the past decade, the Russian government has chosen to pursue an imperialist foreign policy with the goal of overturning key elements of the international order. This culminated in a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in an attempt to topple its government and bring it under Russian control. But, this attack did not come out of the blue; it was preceded by Russia’s 2014 invasion of Ukraine, its military intervention in Syria, its longstanding efforts to destabilize its neighbors using intelligence and cyber capabilities, and its blatant attempts to undermine internal democratic processes in countries across Europe, Central Asia, and around the world. Russia has also interfered brazenly in U.S. politics and worked to sow divisions among the American people. And Russia’s destabilizing actions are not limited to the international arena. Domestically, the Russian government under President Putin violates its citizens’ human rights, suppresses its opposition, and shutters independent media. Russia now has a stagnant political system that is unresponsive to the needs of its people.
Q: And between September 19th of 2016 and October 21st, when the FBI submitted the FISA application, were you able to confirm or corroborate in any of the FBI system the very serious allegations that were contained in the dossier reports?
A: No.
The FBI also made inquiries with other members of the intelligence community to find corroborative information. They came up empty.
Simply put, the unfounded claim that Trump was colluding with Russia was a total sham. A lie. A gargantuan lie. But this fact did not stop the Biden folks from trying to keep that turd afloat in the punch bowl.Q: And what can you tell the jurors about whether or not any of the intelligence agencies that the FBI contacted for corroborative information produced any corroborative information?
A: We did receive information back from a number of different agencies.
Q: Then, as to the information that you received back from the agencies, did they corroborate the specificity of specific allegations that were contained in the dossier reports?
A: Not corroborating the specific allegations, no.
This outlandish statement from the Administration that has locked up hundreds of protestors for trespassing, that is using the FBI to arrest and harass political opponents and who routinely pressures social media to quash anyone daring to challenge failed administration policies. Alex Berenson is but one glaring example of this abuse. His attempts to report on the failings of the Covid vaccines were quashed by Twitter with the full encouragement of the U.S. Government. Yet, Biden wants the American public to buy into the lie that the biggest threat to their freedom comes from Russia when it is his own government and policies that are stripping away Constitutionally protected rights.Domestically, the Russian government under President Putin violates its citizens’ human rights, suppresses its opposition, and shutters independent media.
Does Austin consider Ukraine’s failure to stop Russia’s missile bombardment of the last two days an “extraordinary gain” by the Ukrainians? As long as this kind of delusion infests Western leaders, the slaughter of Ukrainians will continue. If you encounter someone who insists that lies like these cause no lasting harm, you should arrange a trip for that person to the graveyards filling up throughout Ukraine.US secretary of defence Lloyd Austin on Wednesday hailed Ukraine’s “extraordinary gains on the battlefield”, which he attributed in part to “vital” support from Nato allies, including billions of dollars in military aid, along with humanitarian and financial assistance.
“Despite Putin’s new assaults, Ukrainian forces have changed the dynamics of this war,” Mr Austin said at a two-day meeting of Nato defence ministers at the alliance’s headquarters in Brussels.
“They’ve liberated hundreds of towns from Russian occupation. They’ve retaken thousands of square kilometres of their land,” said Mr Austin, who headed a US-led Ukraine defence contact group meeting.

Can The Flood of Lies About Ukraine and Russia Be Stopped?
By Larry Johnson
Published October 13, 2022 at 6:45am
As someone who worked first hand on the CIA’s Afghanistan propaganda campaign in 1985-86, I feel somewhat qualified to comment on the scale and scope of the current propaganda campaign intended to whip up support in the West for Ukraine and galvanize international outrage against Russia–it is titanic and it is out of control.
Where to start? How about the Kerch Bridge fiasco? Initially, the blast on the west bound span of the bridge was celebrated wildly as a massive triumph for Ukraine and a bitter defeat for Russia. The Associated Press account is representative of the media reactions:
TRENDING: MUST WATCH: AOC Gets Absolutely Chewed Out By Former Supporters for Supporting Nuclear War and Funding Ukrainian Nazis (VIDEO)
Any lingering doubt that this bridge bombing was the handiwork of the Ukrainians was erased when Kiev released the mock up of a stamp that will be issued in November celebrating the victory over the Russians:
![]()
There is no government in the world that can come up with artwork and get bureaucratic approval to commemorate a terrorist attack in the short amount of time that Ukraine allegedly worked on this. This was a flamboyant gesture of questionable intelligence–sort of like spiking a football and hitting yourself in the stones:
So today, Ukraine is trying to down play its responsibility for the failed mission to take out the Kerch Bridge (yes, failed, because traffic is till flowing over the bridge) and some of Kiev’s more mentally challenged supporters insisted that this was a Russian FSB op. I received an email from one of these clowns, a Mr. Lane, who wrote:
Got it? Those Russians are so damn clever and so powerful that they tricked the Ukrainians into making a stamp with the image of two explosions on the Kerch Bridge. Russia can do anything, it seems, when the West wants to paint Moscow as a 21st Century Goliath.
I do believe that Russian intelligence had some inkling of this plot and the people involved before the blast took place. Why? Because of how quickly the FSB began rounding up alleged conspirators.
But the Kerch Bridge fiasco appears to be a tiny white lie compared to the monstrous prevarication the Biden Administration unleashed today with its publication of its 2022 National Security Strategy. Check out this whopper (see page 25):
A lot of lies packed into this paragraph. For starters, it looks like the Biden team is engaged in psychological projection when it declares the Russia is pursuing “an imperialist foreign policy” intent on “overturning key elements of the international order.” What? Russia did not “invade” the Donbas in 2014. Ukraine did that. Russia did not unilaterally intervene in Syria, it was asked to provide military aid. Pot calling Kettle Black anyone?
The Biden folks clearly do not understand the concept of irony. On the very day that the Biden Administration releases its National Security Strategy and accuses Russia of “brazenly” interfering in U.S. politics, U.S. prosecutor John Durham was grilling FBI Agents in Federal Court and getting them to admit that the Steele Dossier, which was one of the predicates for investigating Donald Trump for collaborating with Russia to steal the 2016 election, was a lie. FBI Agent Auten conceded under questioning that there was zero corroboration for the outlandish claims in the Steele Dossier:
Simply put, the unfounded claim that Trump was colluding with Russia was a total sham. A lie. A gargantuan lie. But this fact did not stop the Biden folks from trying to keep that turd afloat in the punch bowl.
The penultimate sentence in the opening paragraph on Russia is further evidence of the Biden Adminstration’s complete lack of self awareness:
This outlandish statement from the Administration that has locked up hundreds of protestors for trespassing, that is using the FBI to arrest and harass political opponents and who routinely pressures social media to quash anyone daring to challenge failed administration policies. Alex Berenson is but one glaring example of this abuse. His attempts to report on the failings of the Covid vaccines were quashed by Twitter with the full encouragement of the U.S. Government. Yet, Biden wants the American public to buy into the lie that the biggest threat to their freedom comes from Russia when it is his own government and policies that are stripping away Constitutionally protected rights.
The flood of propaganda and disinformation about Russia and what is going on in Ukraine is not likely to abate in the near term. In fact, Biden and his team appear to be doubling down on spreading outlandish falsehoods. Here is Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin’s latest ravings:
Does Austin consider Ukraine’s failure to stop Russia’s missile bombardment of the last two days an “extraordinary gain” by the Ukrainians? As long as this kind of delusion infests Western leaders, the slaughter of Ukrainians will continue. If you encounter someone who insists that lies like these cause no lasting harm, you should arrange a trip for that person to the graveyards filling up throughout Ukraine.

Look at the flat earthers… should we say they are entitled to their legitimate perspective and give credence to their viewpoints? Of course not, the objective reality takes precedence.
Funny way of saying, he tells me what I want to hear, so I choose to believe him. This guy has a background and some of what he is saying makes a lot of sense to me, so I think its worth taking into consideration personally.
Not really but we all have an opinion. I am consuming all the pro ukraine information too. You cant really preach at me though bro based on your viewpoints.Funny way of saying, he tells me what I want to hear, so I choose to believe him.
I understand where you are coming from and respect it. I applaud a healthy dose of skepticism. Those in power have proven time and time again they weren't necessarily looking out for the rest of us. What I am saying is that there should be an "inquiring mind" approach to understanding what is going on. And sometimes we find out things we don't like (get proven wrong, etc.). For a lot of people, they use a "reinforcement" or "alignment" approach, they will believe perspectives that reinforce their own. That is not being a skeptic, that is simply reinforcing potential biases. This guy has a background and some of what he is saying makes a lot of sense to me, so I think its worth taking into consideration personally.
Lots of people who were terrified to walk around without a face diaper are all of a sudden brushing off the possibility of a nuclear war as nothing to be worried about.I just don’t give a shit about Ukraine or Russia.
I care about #America First.
I don’t want any, not even one, of our soldiers dying for either one of those corrupt ass countries.
I don’t support spending billions in Ukraine, when we have multiple problems in our own country that need addressing and could use that money.
let Russia and Ukraine duke that shit out and kill each other. Why do we ****ing care?
this is going to come back and bite us in the ass.
I think we can walk and chew gum at the same time. Trump supporters maybe notI just don’t give a shit about Ukraine or Russia.

Yep, every time Putin threatens to use nukes, let’s concede everything. Aw shucks guys, we just can’t risk it.Lots of people who were terrified to walk around without a face diaper are all of a sudden brushing off the possibility of a nuclear war as nothing to be worried about.

Well, his background is pretty awful. 4 years in the IC doesn't really mean much. This guy has a background and some of what he is saying makes a lot of sense to me, so I think its worth taking into consideration personally.
You just regurgitated the wiki page and I already read it. That's a subjective write up on him.Well, his background is pretty awful. 4 years in the IC doesn't really mean much.
He's best known for spreading a hoax against Michelle Obama. But among his other greatest hits are:
- 2 months before 9/11 he penned an op-ed saying UBL wasn't a threat and that terrorism was not the biggest security challenge.
- He accused John Kerry of war crimes and said he raped a Vietnamese woman
- He spread a hoax that the British had wiretapped Trump
- He claims that Ukraine is run by Neo-Nazi's who are propped up by the US govt (funny cuz Zelensky is jewish).
- He claims that Russia is only hitting NATO bases.
- He claims Putin is a white nationalist hero, similar to Trump (This is actually factual as stated by hammer dog yesterday, but nonetheless reprehensible.)
Let me ask you this... if there was a sports analyst who was consistently spectacularly wrong, would you still listen to him?
Dementia Joe can barely walk, much less chew gum.I think we can walk and chew gum at the same time. Trump supporters maybe not
Is any of what I typed incorrect? You just regurgitated the wiki page and I already read it. That's a subjective write up on him.
