I would suspect that its higher than 71% with the caveat that churches not be forced to conduct religious ceremonies for same sex couples.

Thats the reason Andy Harris (my rep) gave me for not voting yes on the same sex protection act thing last summer. As with most things there is room for nuance, but unfortunately neither side of the political aisle include the nuance in their drafted legislation because it scores more points (campaign dollars) to beat the opposing side over the head with their opposition.

Im Christian, very involved in my church ... I absolutely support same sex marriage and same sex adoption.

Everything you just said is absolutely correct! We should love one another and never turn our back on people. But that doesn't mean we tell someone it's ok when it is not. That is the point I was trying to make about your supporting same sex marriage.

That doesn't mean I don't love them (I have people in my family that have same sex marriages), because I do. But it also doesn't mean I tell them it's ok either. Because it's not. Marriage is between a man and a woman. The Bible is clear on that. The Word offends people because deep down even they know it is Truth. But only God can convict someone of their sin, and Lord knows I have my own.

Now suppose I have a son that is into kiddie porn/pedophilia? Or maybe what if he is cheating on his wife? Will I still love him? You better believe it! But will I support it? Absolutely not! But I will love him, pray for him, and try and help him. And he will also lovingly know where I stand. It's not an opinion. I stand on the Word. If someone doesn't like the Word or gets offended by it, they can choose not to believe. But that won't make it any less true. So, take it up with God. He is the Boss... and I believe.
