Looks like we're going to be saying goodbye to first round byes for conference champions.
If they'd have added the caveat that teams must have at least played in a conference championship game to get a bye, I'd be all for this. As is though all it does is incentivize teams to not play in a conference championship game. And any hope whatsoever of Notre Dame joining a conference just went out the window as well.
