mid you can lease tell me one place I’ve stayed it was a hoax. I have stayed very clear on a few things
1. The virus is real and for unhealthy people and people with underlying issues it can be very dangerous. Same with any other disease or virus
2. It is not as deadly as people are trying to make it
3. The testing data is skewed and questionable and has been since day 1
4. More than half of the people who get it have mild to no symptoms. This number is probably higher based on people who are asymptomatic and never get tested
5. I’ve been exposed multiple times, never had symptoms so outside of the antibody test very early on to see what it was I have not tested because I don’t test for things I don’t show symptoms for
6. I’ve practiced infection control, social distancing (respecting people’s space), and proper hygiene long before this
7. People who never test are getting emails with positive results
I mean we technically don’t have a cure for HIV and it’s deadly and yet we don’t quarantine those people until there is a vaccine now do we? I know it’s different because it’s spread completely different so please understand the sarcasm...at some point we’ve got to move on and realize the fatality rate is not what they scared us to believe.
If you don’t feel comfortable going out...stay home. If you feel the need to wear a mask...wear a mask. The mask are more for making people feel safe than they are effective.
And do people really think kids will properly wear a mask in school, in stores, at home or anywhere? Most adults can’t. Most mask are intended for single use. Cloth masks are pretty and a nice new fashion statement but most people aren’t sanitizing them and they just hang em up on their mirror and use over and over! That’ll show the Covid

Your HIV comparison is spot on!! It killed 16,000 Americans in 2019....right behind...well nevermind, it's not even listed on any ranked lists for causes of death in America. It is less than 1/2 of "Chronic Liver Disease" which is ranked No. 12. With that said, it makes a perfect comparison to a virus that's killed nearly 150,000 people in 5 months, and a virus that doesn't require sexual intercourse to transmit.
And other experts in other areas gave educated guesses a month or two back that actual cases were 10-20 times known cases. I suspect that number is smaller now with much more testing occurring, but it gives a flavor for why there can be a lot of cases even without a lot of overt sickness.
Where masks are worn, it appears from some studies that the percentage of cases that are mild or asymptomatic increases. This makes me think that we could reach widespread virus coverage with less strain on medical infrastructure and deaths than otherwise would be expected. Perhaps this is why Japan, where mask use is widespread, has had a mild outbreak even with very little shutdown.
You could actually expect them to keep it in their pants. I would imagine that anyone who knowingly has HIV and has sex with someone without telling them, can likely be sued.
Wasn’t there a guy who was tom catting it up in a factory in the upstate a few years ago with hiv? I never heard if he was sued.

He may not have, but there are plenty of people on the board, and who are vocal about it, that think that wearing a mask will make the virus magically disappear, that wearing a mask solves all problems. Some people are pretty entrenched with that idea The people who believe that are just as bad as the "hoax" people

They can swing by my house and I’ll bring 1 of every mask there is available and a few cloth masks and test them and see how accurate they are when used properly.
Unless you’re planning on getting in a contagious persons face for 2 minutes or longer you really don’t need a mask. I have no issue wearing a mask when required, don’t care if anyone wears one, or if anyone chooses to stay at home
I’ll continue to sanitize, wash hands, give people their space, and love my life as usual. Just got test a few minutes ago and I’m going to be pissed if it comes back positive and I can’t go to Jamaica

100% agree. To me it’s no different than requiring a shirt and shoes, a resort requiring pants and closed toe shoes at dinner places, or anything else
Where required, I respect that. Because I am around high risk people who deal with it I try to stay away from elderly people or unhealthy individuals.

There's a LOT of disturbing effects of this virus that most folks have no clue about - sometimes, even if you have no outward issues at all.

You still do not understand masks. The primary purpose is not to prevent the wearer of the mask from contracting it, it is to limit their ability to spread it. So your statement that "the mask are more for making people feel safe than they are effective" is as ignorant and false today as it was the first time you made it. The science is undeniable on mask wearing as a tool to limit the spread.
And as for the people being infected that wore masks that you are making fun of, what you dont understand is the lady who was a mask wearer and who was infected was probably not infected by someone wearing a mask. She was infected by someone who was not wearing a mask. While she was doing her part to protect others by wearing a mask, someone else did not return the favor and infected her. So her plea to others to wear a mask was very reasonable. She is doing her part to limit the spread but is now paying the price for someone else's ignorance.
I don’t understand masks? Ummm K...I just have to provide spec sheets on every mask I sell and have had to educate myself on every line item on those masks but I know nothing. Explain. Why every time I mean with healthcare professionals we meet and rarely does anyone have a mask on but yes...educate me

In this post in this thread you said mask people make you laugh and you make fun of a post from someone who wore a mask and contracted it and posted about it on facebook. But I guess you arent making fun of them for believing in mask wearing.
And I have tried to educate you on the simple concept of mask wearing, which is brutally simple, including linking articles with the clear science behind it. Either you are too uninterested to read and be educated or else you are too ignorant to understand what you are reading. Meanwhile you continue to make false statements.
The fact that you are rattling off crap about spec sheets on a mask show you still don't get the most important concept of mask wearing. Its not about what it does for you, its what it does to stop you from spreading the virus if you unknowingly have it. You don't need a spec sheet for a basic cloth mask to understand that concept.
No clue what you do for a living, but unless you’re a healthcare provider or medical supplies salesman, I tend to doubt you have a more informed opinion than someone who is actually in those fields.
I am fairly confident that I work directly with more healthcare providers across this country than anyone on this board. I do several billion dollars worth of business with that industry every year. But, that level of interaction isn't required to understand this topic. The basic concept of masks and why they work is not a difficult one to understand.
