In the midst of our potential coaching changes how would you rank everyone on our staff. A lot of my logic is based on performance prior to joining Clemson. The only ones that I feel that confident about in my rankings are the first and last ones.

1. Matt Luke- I think this is Dabo’s best hire out side of BV
2. Mike Reed- I think our lack of NIL has hurt his recruiting the last couple of years but he’s put out multiple 1st round picks in his time here.
3. Eason- He’s our best recruiter and while I haven’t loved the production from our DT’s, he’s still one of the best on staff
4. Rumph- This is based entirely off of his history. I don’t think he had much to work with last year.
5. Riley- I love his scheme but am still not sold on his playcalling ability although he could be handcuffed a bit. He deserves some credit for Cade.
6. Richardson- I know the TI folks love this guy. I haven’t seen anything that tells me his a great recruiter or coach personally but his position has never been a weakness.
7. Grisham- maybe he should be higher after this past year. If we can continue to bring in talent here like last year then our WR’s should be back to being one of the nation’s best consistently.
8. Spiller- I think he’s done better than most people on here. Reeling in Davidson was a big coup for him in today’s recruiting world. His unit has carried our team for the the last 2 years until the back half of this season. I don’t blame him for not producing with Haynes and Green as they were not sought after in HS for a reason.
9. Conn- I don’t know what his closing ability is but he has opened doors as a recruiter for us. Safety production has been a struggle the last few years.
10. Goodwin- I think he could be useful in the box and film room but he was in over his head on the field. I hope that he finds his niche somewhere, maybe even Clemson.

I place a lot of consideration on the fact that our coaches have been handicapped in recruiting and, as a result, overall talent. I think we have gone from having 6-7 coaches that no one else would hire to do the same job to 2-3. A couple of changes this year gets us very close to a championship level staff again. I still don’t love that we have 3 guys with zero prior experience at this level on offense but am not sure that anyone deserves to be let go yet.
