It's become almost a yearly habit to read between the lines during Fall camp about our starting QB for the year. I remember during Fall camp for both Deshaun and Trevor's Freshman years that there was a sense that while the starters were clearly the starters (Stoudt and KB respectively) that the staff felt like they hit massively on both Deshaun and Trevor. It was intimated by @Larry_Williams and @Cris_Ard in both cases that they wouldn't be surprised if either QB's were starters by season end.

Fast Forward to 2021 where DJ was the incumbent starter- reading between the lines of that Fall camp, there was a way more cautious approach. Fans (including many of us on TI) expected DJ to fall in line with how Deshaun and Trevor performed and expected him to be the next big QB at Clemson, especially how he performed when Trevor was out with Covid. However, everything said from the Coaches and here on TI intimated that there was a much more cautious approach, as if they knew that they potentially didn't have at QB with DJ what they had with our other 2 massive stars. Even in 2022, there was a "wait and see" approach if DJ could shake off 2021 and be the QB he had potential to be, which we all saw play out to not be the case.

All that to be said, its exciting to read the camp storylines this year and "read between the lines" and see that the coaching staff (and the TI staff) seem to think that Cade is going to be ready this year and while he may not be Trevor or Deshaun, he could and should be expected to have a big year.

Long story short, it seems like there is optimism that we will have excellent QB play and that Cade fits and understands Riley's system and that he is positioned for a big year, which couldn't be more exciting!
