TLDR- Who do you really want for the rest of the class? If you are a pessimist - the roster sucks and we will be lucky to win 8. If you are an optimist- we are a few pieces away from playoffs in 2026.
DE is the upmost priority besides adding elite talents like Atkinson. Also, content at QB or portal??
Just wanted to share some thoughts and get some opinions of the most important prospects remaining for us this cycle (pending all our current commits)
First I know / expect we will lose the following on offense - Cade, Tonio, Leigh, Miller ( all to the draft) and Randall, Linthicum, Parks ( to either the draft or just done).
I think we have done well so far on OL. Would love to add Lamar and either Sellars or Morgan.
QB though is a HUGE question mark. Can Vizzina do it? If not then I wouldn't count on any of the other options given how important the position is. Reynolds won't be ready and then there is baseball looming. So might be fine but might NEED the portal.
However, the rest of the O looks pretty good with Brown, Wesco, Moore plus hopefully Henderson comes along and adding speed and talent with Salmin and Burroughs. Starting OL of Jacobs, Sadler, Sewell, Thurmon, Wade probably wouldn't be too shabby.
Defensively, we could have a great draft class with Parker, Woods, Capehart, Woodaz, and Terrell all expected to be gone. Hopefully, we can NIL Heldt, Barnes, and Alexander into staying. Also, for sure lose Venables, Lukus, and Denhoff.
Thins are scary at DE. I think this is either the most important recruiting we have left or we need to portal HARD. Interested to know specifically what DEs everyone wants for the class. Lawson and Mayo probable starters???
Plenty of good bodies at DT specifically Adams and Green
LB should be solid with Brown and Alexander.
But who plays the TIGER - Jamal Anderson ? Gebhardt as a frosh? Hanafin or is he at Safety?
CB- Hampton plus one of Gipson, Feagin, Strozier.
S- Barnes, Griffin, and Jones probably
