remembering 9/11/01

tough day in my neck of the woods. Really hard to think about football etc on this day.

I can't believe it's been 19 years. My wife and I at the time lived close enough to the WTC that for months we could smell the acrid fumes in our backyard. Filled with tremendous gratitude that my dad made it out of NYC that day. and tremendous grief for the 10 people from my town and 1000s of others that were lost in the towers This includes a neighbor who was a member of the FDNY. His kids were students at the school where my wife taught. I remember his kids being pulled out of class and the funerals happening over and over. Hard to put that kind of grief into words.

Doesn't matter where you stand politically, I'd encourage all of you to take a moment today and quietly remember those lost and the families they left behind.
