Does anyone have a good understanding of what revenue sharing is proposed to look like assuming it becomes the rule? If so, explain it to me please.
I hear the $20.5 million number that has to be shared by all sports. I assume that is basically a salary cap for all athletes at a given school. That means that even if Texas raises $100 mil, only $20.5 can be used to pay athletes. Who will monitor and enforce that? I know we'll play by the rules for the most part, but others will push the limits some and some others may just flat out ignore them. What's the consequences? Big money teams like Texas, Texas A&M, Oregon, etc will spend the money somewhere. We could see the facility arms race kick back into high gear. I wonder what the other unintended consequences will be.
