I do not support preemptive pardons or pardoning of family members. I believe that President Biden made a mistake by issuing those and they represent a dangerous precedent.

That said, why is there outrage over this but not outrage win the incoming President says he wants to have televised military tribunals for members of Congress? It should be alarming that the outgoing President considered the incoming President such a threat to Americans that he took such a drastic step.

Its also worth pointing out that the pardons issued yesterday were for people who have not been charged with any crime, and for which there is no evidence of any crime committed. Those that Trump pardoned were tried and convicted. A jury of their peers determined they were guilty of sedition against the United States and Trump just pissed all over them.

Imagine being officer Fanone who put his life on the line to protect lawmakers in both parties and getting tazed, beaten half to death while the crowd chanted "Kill him with his own gun!" and ending up in the hospital with a stroke, some broken bones and a heart attack.

Then imagine being his almost 80 year old mom who has been swatted by magats and a few weeks back, she was out in the yard raking leaves and a car pulled up and threw a bag of shit on her. Simply because he told the truth about his experience in the hearings.

Then imagine letting the violent domestic terrorists out of prison unexpectedly so now he fears for his life and has filed for protective orders against the insurrectionists who tried to kill him

Then imagine half the country cheering the release of the people who did this to him and not giving him an ounce of sympathy

I think you are trying show these are the same when they are not. In Dbjork6317’s example, these are people that were convicted of crimes, while in your example, these people that were not convicted of crimes. The two pardon cases are very different.

I am pretty certain that if anyone breaks the law and the police or some other law enforcement is around, they get arrested.

He didn't ask for one but he accepted it because he knows that Trump's administration isn't concerned about the rules and would likely try some novel way to persecute him, whether it lead to a guilty verdict or not. This is a new unfamiliar world and we aren't talking about normal people anymore.

if fauci intentionally or negligently lied about the effects of the shots and/or about his contributions to gain of function of a lab-produced virus, then he should be subject to criminal investigation.
