The extra factor now though is we have a demented potus surrounded by borderline Communists and they just approved US weapons to be used to attack Within Russian borders. It worries me.
Hopefully Trump will step in, pull down Putins pants and blow him like he did in Helsinki when he was president.

Agree on the first point. The 2nd point no one knows and I think you are underestimating what the Russians have done in this Ukraine conflict. Conversely Russia would only worry about our nuclear weapons also. I am just pointing out that we are not full levels above the competition in any sense imo. I do not want to find out the answer either. Ultimately if we fight Russia we will end up fighting China too. India even though they have bodies is not going to fight China. Europe is not going to be much help imo. This entire situation is a cluster and we have Joey Shitbags as the current face of American Leadership which is a disaster event though we know the radical left communists are calling the shots behind the scenes. we absolutely know … that’s been about the only “good” thing from a US perspective about Ukraine. The Russian military capabilities are laughable. Their elite forces were butchered by the Ukrainians and their tech is trash. Their modern tanks are getting dominated and their pride and glory “5th Gen” fighter can barely be considered 5th Gen and has the radar cross section of a blimp. Their hypersonic missile is a joke, taken out by Patriot batteries from the Gulf War … the first one. The only thing the Russians have that we don’t is they have a complete disregard for their own peoples lives. They will throw their own blood and flesh at any enemy.
With China it is the same story, except that the Chinese military has no combat experience. The last time they were at “war”, they were killing their own people. Soooooo the Chinese capabilities are just as feckless at the Russians, but somehow dirtier and shittier.

If Russia is getting butchered then why has Ukraine not taken back basically any territory while using American weapons? Something is not connecting here.

Disregard for your own people's lives can be an asset in war, unfortunately. Yeah, the Russian have suffered a lot, but they have the numbers advantage and are using it. They've also adapted and learned over the course of the war. The Ukrainians have taken a pounding from FAB-500 bombs the Russians have modified into a stand-off weapon. Air defenses aren't getting to the jets launching them, and the bombs aren't getting shot down either, Patriot systems or not. I think the conflict's moved from Russia'a inability to decapitate little ole Ukraine to Russia slowly but surely grinding down one of Europe's largest and well-equipped armies. Complacency isn't a good idea.
I wouldn't underestimate China's ability as it concerns a war over Taiwan either. The CCP views it as an existential one, and they're willing to pay a higher price for it than we are. Their military and defense industry is in large part built around this specific conflict. They'll test any air defense system we have purely out of scale, and they're not shooting bottle rockets. We'd be dealing with an intelligence/cyber warfare apparatus that rivals our own.

I don’t underestimate China’s ability to overtake Taiwan, it’s just a matter of how much we want to be involved. If we REALLY don’t want China to take Taiwan, they won’t …. Earth may become Inhabitable in the process, but they won’t take Taiwan. Too much is made of the Chinese military. Russia prides themselves on being a world power. They lined up their military on a country they share a boarder with and invaded. EVERY expert I remember talking at the time gave the Ukraine military little chance. Two years later they are still trying, are closing in on half a million casualties, and have had to implement a draft to replace the killed and wounded. Russia can and probably still should win this war... But to even suggest that somehow the Russian invasion of Ukraine wasn't an unmitigated disaster for them is just plain dumb.
Sure Ukraine got NATO weapons and that's ALL that keeping them in the fight. But when you can't take over a crappy little country that's sitting on your border, that says a lot. On the other hand... the US staged their own invasion half way around the world against Russian supported Iraq and we were rolling through Bagdad in a couple of weeks after anally pillaging everything in our way and getting very few casualties.
I get that you root against the US any time you can comrade, but this is just plain crazy.

Russia did what they wanted to do and any other interpretation is just BS. Ukraine has been using US weapons for well over a year and has not a damn thing to show for it. This conflict would of been over if not for epically bad moves by Biden and the globalists criminals running our govt currently. We have no strategic interest there and the war has hurt us significantly. Russia will not stand for NATO setting up camp at its border. They have drawn their line in the sand. We wouldn't let Russia or China start building significant military capabilities right across our border in Mexico.

2.7% pay raise yet inflation was 3.4% last year so it's not even a net zero for the servicemen.
Giving NATO weapons to Ukraine hasn't had the impact hoped for since Ukraine is reluctant to utilize NATO tactics as well. Much like you recruit players with specific skills to run an offense, our weapons are designed to support our tactics. Ukraine has never trained or operated utilizing our Combined Arms Doctrine. That said, without NATO support, this fight would have been over already. Ukraine doesn't have the logistics to maintain the fight on their own. Russian industries are outpacing the resources Ukraine is getting to defend itself.
This summer will tell the tale. Despite Russian losses, they are still on the verge of winning. They're increasing the size of the front in order to make Ukraine commit their strategic reserves. Once those reserves are gone, Ukraine is screwed. It's not about tanks, planes or bombs. It's about bodies. And Russia has a whole lot more of them.
The quality of your weapons can be a game changer. But there's something to be said for mass too.
It's safe to say at this point, Ukraine will never get the eastern part of it country back unless Russia just decides to withdraw: which they won't. Ukraine doesn't have the offensive combat power to do it.

Oh I agree that Ukraine is unlikely to win against Russia, unless the Russians just end up quitting. The Russians have WAY too large a force compared to Ukraine. I was just pointing out to the Putin fanboy above that Russia has taken it on the chin and NOT as he suggested just done exactly what they planned to do. That doesn't mean that Russia can't or won't win eventually.

- It was Trump campaign consultant George Papadopolous who triggered it by bragging about having access to a Russian plot to reveal dirt on Hillary in a conversation with the Australian ambassador.
- Republican Trey Gowdy kicked off the initial investigation and claimed as much and flatly stated that the dossier had NOTHING to do with it.
- It was then turned over to Republican Rod Rosenstein in Trump's administration
- He appointed Republican Robert Mueller to investigate.

Simple … because Ukraine doesn’t have the man power. Tech only gets you so far, you still need boots on the ground to take and hold territory. Make no mistake, Russia is going to win the conflict … eventually because as stated, they are just going to throw bodies at the Ukrainians until there aren’t any Ukrainian men left.
also … keep in mind, that the American weapons that were given to the Ukrainians were largely 30 year old tech with the exception of some basic drones. These archaic munitions cut through the Russians like hot knives through butter.
I would certainly not advocate for this but just imagine if we gave the Ukrainians a couple of F22s.

I think the reality is somewhere in the middle here. The US is superior in weaponry but Russia is not as far behind as we would like to think and they know how to use what they got to destroy stuff. I absolutely think that Russia could shoot down our F22s given enough tries. I just want us to get out of this war and it will then end shortly after.
