Russian Subs headed to Cuba

LMAO!! Sure man... Russia invaded and lost 300K+ troops. Half their black sea fleet, and thousands of pieces of armor to capture about 50 miles or so more territory. That will certainly keep them safe from NATO. All according to plan. Sure comrade!
Sounds like more than 50 miles to me. Its approximately 20% of Ukrainian territory that was taken.

Let me guess, Newsweek will now be considered fake news to you going forward? LOL!!

The front line situation is fluid, with estimates of the total Ukrainian territory controlled by Russia varying. Zelensky said in February that Moscow holds 26 percent of Ukrainian territory, a number that will now be higher given Russia's spring offensive successes in eastern Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, and its recent seizure of new territory in northeastern Kharkiv region.

Independent estimates made earlier this year have generally been lower, with most considering less than 20 percent of Ukrainian land held by Russia. This represented a major reduction from the opening days of the war and followed successful Ukrainian counteroffensives north of Kyiv in April 2022, and around both Kharkiv and Kherson later that same year.

I think the reality is somewhere in the middle here. The US is superior in weaponry but Russia is not as far behind as we would like to think and they know how to use what they got to destroy stuff. I absolutely think that Russia could shoot down our F22s given enough tries. I just want us to get out of this war and it will then end shortly after.
No my friend, they are as behind as we think. The Russians “captured” one of the M1s and apparently puffed out there chest and bragged about it because now they could “reverse engineer” our tech … they were informed that the tank they captured was outfitted with instrumentation/electronics from 1993.

As far as shooting down the F22 …. I’m sure if “given enough tries” they could shoot one down … it’s kinda like me and carnival games … if given enough tries, I can when the giant teddy bear, but now I’ve spent $150 bucks on a 3 dollar stuffed animal, that is just going to split open after a week spilling styrofoam beads all over my living room (not that has ever happened before 🙄).

We certainly don’t disagree on pulling our support for Ukraine. I hate it, because a lot of people died unnecessarily, but there was a lot of value to us to see the Russians in action. That value has already been realized and now it’s just a waste. If we are truly concerned about Russian expansion in NATO countries, then we should spend the money we are sending to Ukraine to bolster Poland etc. Now it should be noted that the majority the Ukrainian money is going to the military industrial complex. Northrup and Raytheon reported record profits last year … all the while having massive layoffs (which I have a TON of personal feelings about).

Sooooooooo I don’t really have a conclusion for this post soooooooooooooooo here is a picture of a bunny with a pancake on its head

Northrop has 95,000 employees. They closed a facility in AZ losing 500 jobs. All due to a SPACEFORCE program they had that got canceled. Hardly a massive layoff.

Raytheon has 180,000 employees and closed a small facility in Puerto Rico. Hardly a massive layoff.

Thanks Joey shitbags.

Some detail about the Russian flotilla. It's one warship. A frigate: a Grigorovich. Relatively new and packs a nice little anti-ship punch. However its hardly capable of starting WW3 on its own. One of the other two ships are an oiler to fuel the dang thing on its long journey. The other is an ocean going tug....to tug or do maintenance on the frigate in case it breaks down. Laughable.

The US and Canadian Navy's tracked the flotilla as it chugged down the Atlantic.

The sub is their new class of attack submarine. It's not a boomer. I have a nickel that says we had an LA, Virginia or Seawolf tracking the nuke from the North Sea to Cuba.

This is such a nothing burger.

You should have been scared to death in the 80's when Delta IV's were off our coast ready to shower the US in nukes in just a couple of minutes. That was something to worry about.

That’s an awful long way from Russia. Hope they brought enough rubles to buy gas on the way back.

Wrong and wrong …. especially wrong on the Raytheon point, I know first hand.

Raytheon (RTX) had a $3B shortfall, due to a manufacturing defect within a subsidiary. They made this up by layoffs in 2023, and the layoffs have continued in 2024.

What is interesting is the defect can be directly traced back to a reduction in RTXs quality control dept.

I guess all the news media missed those massive layoff.

It was widely covered. Give RTX layoffs a Google, or Collins Aerospace/Pratt&Whitney layoff.

First round of layoffs was on September 23rd 2023. Since then an addition 6k have been let go, all the while reporting record profits and exec bonuses.

I know this, because I was one of the people laid off ….

But it’s all worked out … I’m in a much better place, paid more, and the 20% part of that 401K is in RTX stock is doing pretty awesome. It’s fun texting my old boss (who I was friends with and knew nothing about the layoffs) to get to work and get me my money !

;) it’s also good to know that the fruits of my labor aren’t going to the indiscriminate bombing of brown people, even if indirectly

Nice. I'm still worried though.
