Sanibel Island. Fish, food, beaches?

Just arrived in Sanibel, FL and never been here before. I should of done more research before now but I let the time slip away.

I was smart enough to pack some fishing gear right before I left bc I’ve heard the fishing is good. Really interested in snook fishing but will be limited to fishing off the beaches bc I didn’t bring a boat. Any advice on what to use or where to go would be much appreciated?

Any suggestions on best beaches and food would also be welcomed.
