There hasn't been major immigration reform passed in 35 years. The last major bill signed was under Regan in 1986 which gave legal status to 2.7m unauthorized immigrants. Guess what the trade off was? Tighter boarder security and requiring employers to verify a workers legal status. So even in 1986, border security was a key focus and of course a bartering chip with the left.

You're absolutely right, they should bring a bill to the floor. Will be interesting to see how many on the left support it. Challenge though is the repubs don't want to change major immigration laws, they just want to stop the flood of illegals pouring in. I suspect they know that if they bring a bill to shore up the border, they have to agree to wider immigration changes. Neither side is dumb enough to think we can shutdown all immigration, they both know each party has collectively ruined labor in this country so they need people inbound from less freebie places like Nicaragua and Honduras to come here and do the jobs the people on welfare won't do.

Please explain something to me. I post a link that shows 85% of Germans are against Trump, the tweet also concluded with a German magazine cover showing him as a fascist. Where exactly does the democrat left / lib come into play?

Congrats and thank you on your support of literacy programs. My wife and I are huge believers in this. She has spent years volunteering at various schools as a "literacy hero" (library program) and we have donated thousands of dollars in books. You wouldn't believe how many times it was the first time ever a child owned a book and was overjoyed to take it home. We have donated "Little free libraries" to various schools as well to support the free exchange of books.

What you are doing is awesome, communities are built from the ground up, not by some far away federal government. Taking care of our communities and neighbors is a huge step toward a free and thriving society.

Best of luck in your meeting today, like you said, getting different stakeholders aligned on a vision can be very challenging. But you are doing something of great service and value and I sincerely applaud you for that.

Here's the latest info from Twitterland. They now have a copy of the brochure distributed to the immigrants to get them on the planes. Some of the benefits promised include 8 months of refugee cash assistance, refugee employment services, housing assistance, registration of kids into schools, usage of public transportation, etc.

But yeah, there was absolutely no planned & deliberate attempt to lie and mislead, right? They used taxpayer funds to relocate immigrants using deception, leaving many in violation of their status and proceedings (they are thousands of miles away from their designated ICE office). I have no idea how anyone in their right mind can justify this kind of deception/behavior and go, "yup, these are my values, that's what I want the government to do to my family, friends, and neighbors". Again, I'd be fine with relocating people if there's no deception. But this is blatant...

couldn't care less about the tweets. honestly, i thought they were hilarious and i still enjoy reading him dunk on people over on truth social. there's a lot of things i didn't like about him, and some things i did enjoy about his presidency. i didn't agree with the way he conducted himself with our allies, fellated despots, and just overall tenor. i think his war on election security has done more damage to the electoral process in this country than many people recognize.

i do think some good has come from his movement - mainly more of the public realizing that the media has devolved into a clickbait bullshit medium that only seeks to gain viewers instead of reporting the truth.
