So the pipe behind an outdoor spigot just cracked, leaving water gushing everywhere. Our only shut-off valve is by the road, so can't really isolate it, I don't think. So we are waterless; even if I turn the valve back on, there is zero pressure.
Can I go buy a cap and teflon tape and temporarily cap the pipe before getting to the long-term solution? Or do I need to figure out how to replace this pipe and spigot in order to get water back?
I think that's enough detail haha, although the more probable answer is that a real plumber would want to eyeball the situation to give a credible recommendation.
Thought I'd crowdsource and ask haha. @scartiger @wfutigers
