Since people are talking about the DC situation, I was looking at some stats to see where we fell (Mid 50s - Low 60s in Pass D/Run D/Red Zone D) and while that was a little disenhearting, I found a stat that shocked me to the core.
I realize there a six components to special teams (KO/KOR/P/PD/K/KB) but... where we are in one of them along is cause for some kind of accountability action to be taken.
There are 91 Division 1 teams who have allowed either 1 or no blocked kicks this year.
125 Division 1 teams have allowed 3 or fewer blocked kicks.
One team stands alone at the bottom, 133 out of 133 with EIGHT blocked kicks. 8!!!!!
Clemson.
Kicks are points. Someone needs to be accountable for this.
If Hauser kicks it too low, let Gunn or someone else take a shot, Last time I checked the ball has to get past the LOS to have a shot to go through the uprights.
If it's scheme then good lord.
If its ops in approach i.e. K approach see above. If it's holder, then coach it or change it.
But there is literally no reason in the world for our program with our resources to be the worst in the country at executing a key scoring play.
