Yeah, I know, I know, been here since 2003 so I’m leaning into it. I actually used the search function and it’s been quite a while since one of these and a lot of the restaurants I searched are closed so hoping locals can help this upstate tourist.

Heading down for SEWE and Valentine’s Day weekend with the wife so trying to plan ahead reservation wise. Currently have placeholder reservations for Thursday night at Peninsula Grill, Friday night at the hotel we are staying, The Francis Marion, and Saturday night at Oak. I have a calendar alert to try and snag one at Wild Olive (or obstinate daughter but I read it had a fire and is currently closed so unsure when it will be back) when those reservations become available. Probably looking for Italian on Friday night as I’d think there’s a good bit of menu overlap with Peninsula Grill and Oak so wanting to swap up. I’m flexible on all of them based on recommendations though. Many places are already booked for Friday with the SEWE/Valentine’s Day combo.

Should I avoid any of the current places named? Better recommendations than where I am looking? Would prefer to stay on the Peninsula but will travel outside of it if worth it, hence the wild olive and obstinate daughter options.

Additionally, lunch spots? We don’t get down to Charleston often and would rather eat more local options rather than the Lewis/Home Team bbq spots because we have those now in Greenville. Is Rodney Scott’s worth it? Good spots for Po’ Boys or the like?

Also, any SEWE must dos? This is our first time.

I’ll hang up and listen and accept the Charleston Restaurant thread ridicule as means to an end.
