Texas sucks

They also determined that she needs the procedure to ensure future fertility because she desperately wants more kids and these Neanderthals would rather jail her doctor than allow her to preserve the ability to have future children. What a ****in hellish, Orwellian state for females.

Don't you live there?

Yep. It's a travesty. Just an absolute shit state in every regard.

Paxton really needs to take this to the next level. I can't believe he's allowing IUDs and the Pill to be used as birth control methods in Texas. After all, they both partially work by preventing a fertilized egg from implanting in the Uterus. Isn't that murder according to him? He should be charging ANYONE who uses or sells these. What a Pu**y!

As a old dude in my church once said... A woman's right to choose end's at conception!!

Those are under assault as well!

"In his opinion, U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk wrote — quote — "The use of contraception, just like abortion, violates traditional tenets of many faiths, including the Christian faith plaintiff practices."

Kacsmaryk references Catholic catechisms and 4th century religious texts. "Does Onan, the second son of Judah, imagine that we approve of any sexual intercourse except for the procreation of children?"

Sepper says the decision marks the rising influence of conservative Christian theology in the courts."

Judge Matthew Kacmsaryk

"Last year, Judge Matthew Kacmsaryk closed off one of the only avenues for Texas teens to get confidential contraception. The 5th Circuit on Monday considered arguments in the case."

Go next door to New Mexico? Is it really that hard?

She shouldn't have to leave the state and Texas is trying to stop them from doing that too. The answer is to stop voting for these cretins.

Im not going to base my vote on abortion, espescially when she can drive a couple hours and have the procedure done.

I do think that its too much to prosecute for something that doesnt happen in your state, i would question if they have that authority, but again if abortion is THAT big of a deal to you, move. That is why we are a collection of states.

A couple hours you say? Everything is SO simple for the non-pregnant maga male.

You also missed the part where she wanted the baby, not the abortion so she didn't know how important it would become to her....but sure....she should just move!

Sounds like a complex pregnancy and I agree that she should have choices. But it's hard to get worked up over extremely rare circumstances. She has options. They may not be the options she likes, but they are there for her.

No, the answer is to stop voting for these ruby-red Christofascist Republicans that you like, so they can't control other people's healthcare decisions. You can fvck off with your bellowing about FREEDUMB! Republicans think they should make all your important decisions for you - that's not freedom.

Dude - the left can't answer "is it ok to kill jews" with yes or no. Your party has its own, much larger, problems.

Once again, show us someone on the left that was asked this question: Is it OK to kill Jews? And they said yes.

But I'll help you out. I consider myself a moderate, but I'm more left than most on this board. No, it is not OK to kill Jews. Hamas is a terrorist group and Yes, it is OK to kill them. If we could catch them, I'd chip in to buy the bullets to shoot them.

It was ok to mandate medical procedures in getting the MRNA Vaccine?

I bet if we search your post history you advocated for that? The left certainly wanted it and they wanted vaccine passports. Doesn't sound like the medical freedom you are vouching for.

You can use your perfect hindsight to criticize the mandates if you want, but most of us understood it was an attempt to save lives. Just think about how many more of your voters you would have lost without them.

I didn't advocate for them but I didn't oppose them either. I saw firsthand how most of the employees at my company wouldn't come back to the office unless it was mandated and so the Owner made the decision to make them required to come into the office but he allowed those who were opposed to work from home. That solved it but lets not pretend like taking 10 minutes to get a shot that won't harm you was a big deal in the first place....unless you decided to make it one.

No one needed perfect hindsight to see that authoritarianism isn't the way to go. They were wrong, dead wrong and they forced a medical procedure on everyone. So spare us the dictating healthcare BS. At least republicans respect your rights to be governed by those around you. She can go to New Mexico if she has a complex case and needs an abortion. Local governments are in control of a highly contorversial topic. I don't think it's a one size fits all solution, people are just too divided on the subject.

Your party has much larger issues than some complex abortion case. Like denouncing the killing of jews.

Yeah. Lets get the show on the road. We need to hold these idiots accountable. Trump is going to do the same thing the Biden administration is doing. Get over it.
Pffftttt....LMFAO. Biden is hands-off with the DOJ and even left the Trump appointee investigating his son in place when he took office. Your attempt at gaslighting won't change the fact that Trump deserves and earned every bit of the accountability he's getting. The media isn't doing anything other than reporting on him honestly. You tell me how the hell he's given anyone fodder to report on him positively since the election and I'll call you a liar.

So you mean to say .. that a woman, who without medical intervention in the form of abortion, will lose her abilities to have children, should just accept that? Because stupid laws exist? Do you have children?
I think he is on the same side as you

Imagine forcing this woman to carry a non viable fetus, putting her own health at significant risk and potentially causing her to not have children in the future, and then calling yourself pro life.
Some Republicans just want to show how far-right they are.

The extreme right wing abortions stances are just bizarre. And really, really stupid.

The extremes on both sides are stupid imo. Can't imagine aborting a baby a few days before it was due either.

It would be nice if the nation could come to some consensus that respects womens rights without being cruel and unusual to the baby. Wherever that may be. What Paxton is doing certainly seems cruel and unusual.

Thanks for understanding that this is insane and just flat wrong.

I would also point out aborting a baby a "few days" before it's due isn't a thing unless it's a similar situation to this.

We were talking about extreme positions i.e aborting full term babies. Unfortunately there are people who have advocated for that position. Im glad that its not a thing.

What kills me and most Americans is that this stuff should be between a women and her Doctor. This shouldn't be a legal matter, and making this poor women and her family have to navigate the legal boundaries in an already devastating situation is horrible to me.

Just stop repeating this inflammatory right-wing talking point because it's a lie and totally missing context.
Pete addressed this issue perfectly.
