If those GD tree hugging dumbasses adhered to common sense forestry growth, there wouldn't be a problem. When you outlaw controlled burns because of " pollution" and end up with what they have now, you're a fvcking bunch of Looney tunes environmentalists.

How's preventing that "pollution" working for you libtards now?

Is this 100% accurate or just theory? I Really don’t know

The Camp Fire was primarily in Federal Land before spreading into urban area, so California doesn’t managed it the Federal government does, but carry on.

Doesn't matter whose land. It's simply the law in CA.

Dude, I got a serious lesson in forestry practices by my Clemson University Extension Agent many years ago when looking to invest in planted pine land. Spent maybe 20 hours and bought probably 5 lunches. Controlled burns provide a benefit. You control it when you want to vs. Mother Nature controlling it....such as now in CA.

well, why didnt you say so? we didnt know we were dealing with such a seasoned forester

So it was still some idots that caused all this? Sorry haven't followed much of the story.

Not true of federal land as it is managed by BLM but by all means carry on as obviously you are an expert on land management of federal land in CA after talking to Clemson Extention years ago.

If by "idiots" you mean my brethren to the north (Pacific Gas & Electric), then yes, they are getting much of the blame this week. Stay tuned; I'm sure we're next followed by USFS, Climate Change, Bark Beetle, and Roswell Space Aliens. Check that stock price (PCG); it will tell you all you need to know. We have a somewhat contentious relationship with the forestry management agencies, so I'm just going to keep my thoughts on proper forestry management to myself.
Just flew into Burbank about 45 mins ago & what I could see of the Malibu area (west of LA) it looked as bad as you'd expect.

Actually the policies of the previous admin were to do nothing and the Trump admin has not helped matters. Preditctably groups in California have fought management of almost any kind and delayed things. So while I dont share the op tone, this is a self inflicted wound by all of us. It is absolutely poor management by government in either case. So let's leave it at that.

Neither. Simply parroting Fox News talking points, to include insults of people not known personally.

Serious question for @tigerGUY - does your TV go to any channel but Fox News? You and my wife's stepfather should get together to exchange conspiracy theories and insult "Libtards".

Oh, I thought it might have been some campers who should know if it's a good time to burn a fire or not because of weather conditions and or they might have left it to burn out on it's own.

So it has nothing to do with California being in the midst of a major drought??

Since 2000, California is currently experiencing the longest duration of drought (D1-D4), which as of November 13th, 2018 has lasted 360 weeks beginning on December 27, 2011. The most intense period of drought occurred the week of October 28, 2014 where D4 affected 58.41% of California land.

Factually incorrect. The president of the forestry "abc" organization said there's just been a really severe drought for a few years. They still do controlled burns. Just to much land to be effective.

PGE, the California energy company's faulty equipment cause the two larger wildfires.

You know how you have at least that one person in your extended family that you quietly say "I'm not a rock star, but at least I'm not as bad as him/her"?
Yeah, that's PG&E for us (btw, "PGE" is Portland General Electric) in the electric utility space. Between Hinckley (Erin Brockovich), Topoc, the San Bruno gas explosion, and now the fires, it makes some of our missteps look pretty minor...and again, their stock price reflects that. It was trading near $70/share 15 months ago.

I didn’t know that the Black Lives Matter folks were into Federal Land Management?

I read somewhere that a survey of the forest predicted there were many dead trees in Cal. forests due to some beetle infestation and that it presented a fire hazard. A bi-partisan bill was passed in the legislature to remove the dead trees, but old Moonbeam vetoed the bill. Believe this was in 2016.

I will also say, as a forester, that implementing prescribed fires is one of the best aspects of my job.

I love it....until said fire gets out.

Another moron who doesn’t believe in science. Would love to build a wall around Mississippi and let all you idiots build your own society. You would be dead within years.
