The left really hates the working class never forget

Was this a separate vote or the one that cut Medicaid too? If the latter, seems kind of silly to single out one portion of it, right?

Our system rewards this kind of idiocy. The gotcha politics favored by both sides are a cancer, and create ****ing weirdos like the OP here.

They won't agree to the rational take. Exhausting.

Why should there be no tax on tips or OT, exactly? Why is that different than my salary or bonus?

This is the kind of pandering and buying votes dems usually do. Sad to see on the right.

Even if the goal is, as stated, to help low wage workers, this policy doesnt accomplish that or anything meaningful.

And, as you said... yet here we are.

Yeah, this type of gotcha isn’t a one side issue, but it’s just as disingenuous when the dems do it as this one is now.

I agree with no tax on tip and no tax on OT. People that work on tips are the lower income levels and need that money. They probably severely under report anyway on their taxes and Trump wants to downsize/abolish the IRS so this fits with that goal. No tax on OT is more arguable but I feel this is just an intermediary step toward the eventual goal of abolishment of the income tax. This is absolutely President Trumps goal. President Trump plans for tariff revenue to replace the income tax. I would not though rule out some form of national sales tax as a next step until they get the revenue numbers right.

Tariffs and national sales tax would certainly be better for me than income tax, but how is that better for the middle class? Both increase prices, which will affect those folks more than high earners.

Why should OT not be taxed, but bonuses for performance (another way of rewarding extra effort and work) should be taxed to the max marginal rate? It makes no sense.

Because Trump said so. The Oligarchy has convinced them Tarriffs and sales tax is better for them and not the billionaires.

I think they would have exemptions for basic items like food for instance that would not be taxed. President Trump is very aware that any new system must be built to make it more liveable for people on the lower income levels.
