Had a group wanting to go out for dinner on a Thursday night and a friend called for reservations. He got an email back and forwarded to the group: "I was just informed that the Restaurant will add a 35% gratuity to each bill with a large group (over 6). I understand adding on a tip for larger groups but is 35% not over the top? Based on the feedback from the group that planned on attending it is. Mentioned it at work this morning and 2 other groups had experienced the same reply. One went and the other cancelled.
Restaurant being in Chappells between Clinton, Newberry, Greenwood (near the dam of Lake Greenwood) I do not understand this fee....after all it is good food (eaten there a couple of times) but certainly not fine dining.
