1. Culture - You have to give Dabo a TON of credit for how he has built this program and this locker room. And while I think we all know and now even he knows we can still use the portal and have that culture, man it was impressive to see these kids fight last night. Down 31-10 at Texas and with a run defense that couldn't stop a nosebleed and what did we do? We get stops, score 14 unanswered and cut that thing to 31-24. It didn't end the way we wanted, but that showed the heart of a champion and was all about Dabo's culture. Lots of teams fold there...see Tenn vs OSU. Very proud that Dabo goes out and gets the types of players we do and builds that culture. Really makes you proud on nights like last night.
2. Cade Klubnik - That kid is a baller. I hope and pray he returns for one more ride, because if he does, watch out. He is only getting better and I truly think 1 more year will really boost his draft stock. He still locks in at times vs trusting his reads. But man what a year and what improvements he made in stepping up in the pocket, reading the entire field, taking the check down, and making some really amazing throws. He is a legit Heisman front runner for 25. Come on back young man! Lead us back to the mountain top and earn a first round draft pick. Who knows, be our first Heisman winner?!?! It's all there for the taking.
3. WRU 2 - Man we have some legit studs catching the football again. Props to Coach Grisham for bringing these kids to Clemson and developing them. Talent helps, but these kids are being coached. Love the releases I am seeing from these young freshman wide outs. Love the downfield blocking I am seeing. Maybe some of the Grish haters will man up and give him props for what he has done. Guys, if we can bring back Wesco, Moore, Williams and Brown...and then add in Henderson and the transfer kid to what we already have. That could rival any group this school has ever had. I know that is lofty praise, but I think it's warranted. These are some special dudes. If I am Cade, its reason #1 I am returning. They just put 336 on the BEST defensive backfield in America...with no run game. Watch out in 2025.
4. Matt Luke - What a job this man has done. He is a dog. Just give him time. That is all this guy needs. We return some key pieces and I believe it could be one of our best units under Dabo. This is reason #2 Cade should return. We will find a running back. I think we have some talent coming in. Hope we go get 1 from the portal. But whoever takes the handoffs, running behind this OL is gonna be the key and I love Coach Luke. Excited about this position group! What an amazing job we did last night in pass pro vs a ferocious front 4!
5. New DC - It's just a matter of time and then who? And I trust this time Dabo will go with a homerun hire this time around...similar to what he did with Riley. The talent is there. Time to get the edge back on that side of the ball. Time to unleash the hounds and let them eat again. If we get that side of the ball back to where it should be, this is a final 4 team next year! Go get a name that will bring in studs to want to play for him. If we do, watch out!
***We already know this, but Dabo's change on the portal is huge as well. We don't want to be a "portal built team," but filling holes and adding key pieces can change a program for the better. Now that we are doing that and rev sharing is coming, I think this is a huge moment for Clemson. Let's pay Cade, get new leadership at DC, and go do the unthinkable and climb that mountain one more time!!!
