Three years ago I honestly wondered if the Shamecocks would ever beat us again. Now they have beaten us 2 out of 3 years. How? They have out coached us. 2 years ago we decided to stick with a QB who went 8 for 28 passing instead of playing a substitute who won MVP the next week in the ACC Championship game. Does anyone not think this decision cost us that game? That year the gamecocks came back from a 14 point deficit to win the game.
This year our defense played well for three quarters. During those three quarters Sammy Brown was our leading tackler and we had a 7 point lead. Then our genius coaching staff decided to let Sammy ride the pine for the last quarter. Then their QB, who we had held in check up to that point, exploded for over 100 yards rushing and the cocks score 10 points and we score none. It pisses me off that we pay 10s of millions in coaches salaries and this is the result we get.
Their staff recruits and developed a QB from a few miles down the road while we went 3000 miles to recruit DJU who was slower than a good offensive lineman and couldn’t play a lick. And we never offered their kid a scholarship.
I personally think our head coach should donate a few million from his salary to acquire some talent if we can identify it.
