Watching all the news networks today, and the left still doesn't get it. It is all she lost because America is full of racists and sexists. I am literally watching some guy who was involved in the Obama campaign talk on MSNBC right now. He leads off his comments by talking about how he now believes that America has a dark part of its soul and Trump appeals to that.

No. It is the economy stupid. It is the price of food. It is the price of gas. It is the fact that you weirdos can't tell people the difference between a man and a woman. Until you admit that, you will continue to lose ground.

Don't know why I respond to a total idiot, but inflation was NOT worse , that is a blatant lie. That is a big problem, lying on top of lying. But when dems tell lies it is OK. Just realize you are showing your total stupidity. Not ignorance, STUPIDITY!

Not bitter at all. I can certainly understand that having a disdain for people who live a different lifestyle than you would make non biased clinical practice difficult. Hence, you move into academia. It makes sense and explains a lot

Ok. I am mature enough and smart enough to realize that I can disagree with someone and not hate them.

But, hypothetically, if I am as bad as you think. Just think of how many providers I can put into the medical field from my position as a professor who think and believe like me after they sit under my instruction. Doesn't sound too good for you. And I have news for you. Most of my co-faculty view the world like me. I will impact the medical field exponentially more than you ever will.

Cool. You train new providers to be bigots. I’ll continue to make a difference in patients’ lives. Something you clearly don’t care to do.

Also, it doesn’t impact me how many shitty trainees you matriculate. It impacts the world. So congrats for bragging about being a net negative to society.

Is it unhinged? In healthcare if you can’t care for everyone then you’re in the wrong field. This guy is bragging about supporting a racist xenophobic monster. I wouldn’t want my doctor to be a closet Klan member. I definitely wouldn’t want them to be a public Klan member.

The rhetoric isn’t unhinged when it’s true. It is unhinged when it results in violence and death (see Jan 6 attempted coup instigated by Trump)

There is zero reason that any logical person should be voting for Trump in 2024. His winning of the election is a reflection of the failures of our education system and our society as a whole. His rhetoric, public racism and bigotry, excused criminal acts, and proud ignorance are why we are in shambles as a country. Those who support him are either fans of chaos and violence or are so unbelievably stupid that they are falling for a chronic con man’s sales pitch yet again.

So I’m sorry if it upsets you when I say that Trump and his supporters are the devil incarnate and have no place in a just society, but it is the truth. Facts don’t care about your feelings. This country is so unbelievably f**ked with an impending second Trump term. It’s incomprehensible.

I'm with you on the economy, price of food, etc., but the Republican party has become way too worried about trans people and the issues surrounding that. Now obviously, men shouldn't be able to compete in women's sports, but I'd wager the majority of both parties agree with that.

To me, that stuff has become a huge talking point when in reality it's small potatoes.

Reading the unhinged drivel of those unable to control their emotions is the best part of election season. I didn’t vote for Biden but when he won I went on about my life and was fine for the next 4 years. I’m sure during that time ole pea enjoyed reading the mindless chatter of angry Trump voters and how the Kraken was coming (tbh it was very amusing nonsense). Kamala lost because people forgot how bad it was under Trump. The psychology of inflation is strong. Even though inflation has slowed and Biden achieved a “soft landing” recession it wasn’t enough. Trump/MAGA were able to effectively convince the public that Democrats were causing nonexistent problems.

Son, I have been practicing medicine and taking care of patients since before you were in middle school. I actually value life, especially the most vulnerable. So save me your soapbox speech and your self righteousness. It means nothing coming from someone who thinks it is a virtue to take the life of an unborn child.

You have allowed Donald Trump to ruin you. It isn't healthy.

I am going to say this, and it is the last thing I will say to you about any of this. I know you are a provider. I remember talking to you about it when you came to me for some advice and with some questions. I don't know anything about you as a provider. I do know that we obviously disagree deeply on most things, but I bet you are a good provider. I bet you care about your patients just as I do. I bet you do what you think is best for them as most providers do. I wish you nothing but the best in your career going forward.

You are right about one thing. I am prolife. For me that is the and always will be the number 1 issue in every election. I am not ashamed of that. I am prolife both because of my faith and because of my background in science and medicine.

I posted in another thread, but I’m on a yacht in the BVIs right now with 4 very bright, successful families doing a fantastic job raising their children. Zero Kamala supporters. Fair enough. I am pro choice and it is one of the most important things to me each election. We’re just on opposite ends of the spectrum for that. My apologies for losing my cool. Seeing the damage that restricting abortion access causes is just really upsetting. And being around people who are at high risk of being affected by it makes it all the more real.

At least you didn’t go into OB-GYN

I don't think it was small potatoes in this election and played a large role in Trumps success with certain groups.

I couldn't careless what an adult does. I believe it to be wrong, but i am not interested in legislating morality in most cases. I do care when you ask me to participate in the delusion. I have an even bigger problem when you start permanently altering children.

Correct. And the Democratic Party has become way too focused on trans rights and all things transgender. Fact is the trans population makes up such a small percentage of the population that winning or losing their vote will never influence an election in a tangible manner. However, it is such a polarizing issue that it certainly will influence a moderate voter one way or the other. Not a winning strategy to tie your wagon to trans rights front and center.

As a reasonable professor should. This conversation has made me think back to those OBGYN lectures back in didactic year and I can’t even recall if the lecturer had any political comments during the lecture on the different kinds of abortions. Probably a good thing
