Exactly, Kimmel is doing the same thing as every other late-night talk show host, going back to Johnny Carson. They make fun of public figures - it's just what they do, so why Rodgers would feel the need to overreact in that way makes no sense. He needs to grow a pair.
Lebron … off the top of my head … talks about societal issues, but … doesn’t attack wide swaths of the American public.
Jimmy Kimmel is the same guy who disrupted a black woman's award acceptance for a bit. His reputation is well earned. He's a turn coat ideologist because it's profitable at the moment. A la Lindsay Graham. I didn't take one side or the other. But comedy bears no weight and when we attempt to censor it, we begin to crumble the foundations of this country. You don't have to find humor in Aaron Rodgers comments. Heck, you can even find them problematic. But he's trading shots and doing it with humor. Silencing that is a total invasion of free speech.
I agree 100%. Just not sure why people give a shit when either one of them is taking shots. If you guys recall when Sammy Watkins was telling us that the Earth was flat... I didn't get upset... I just kind of shook my head and moved on. I think most of us were like that. And the whole thing just went away.
But he really is - his skits are some of the funniest I've ever seen on late night tv. Not sure if you saw the ones he did with Affleck, Matt Damon and Sarah Silverman but I don't think I've ever laughed that hard. I think he's brilliant, so sue me 🙃

Exactly, he needs others to be funny. On his own, he is abysmal, which is why he failed in stand up and his radio career tanked.
In his radio career he met Adam Corolla, and that’s where he got his big break as a writer and then co-host of some Comedy Central shows.
The biggest reason I don’t like him is he is just not authentic. 2024 Kimmel would hate 2001 Kimmel. He sold out plain and simple ….
That’s one of the reasons I like Silverman as much as I do. I don’t agree with her politics, but she is authentic. She is who she is and hasn’t changed one bit.
Mostly I agree. But I'll still argue that there's a distinct difference and ramifications between what Roger's did and what Kimmel did to piss Roger's off.
Absolutely. But we as a people can’t start weighting these things at least to the point of censorship. And I’d be far more likely to take a stand again Rogers where it not for the person I know Kimmel to be. At least so far as he publicly portrays himself. I just think he shouldn’t throw stones if he doesn’t want them coming back.
Fair enough. Good point. I'm probably letting my distaste for Rogers and ambivalence towards Kimmel color my perspective also.

If you read what I said and took away that I think AR is a great guy then I would strongly suggest a reading comprehension class. I'm not sure I would consider either of the two guys in this pissing contest as role models.

I'm not sure who should get the credit, just saying he creates some hilarious skits and that's what I love about his show. I love Colbert too but Fallon is just kinda meh to me, though I do like those musical performances he does with that house band - The Roots I think it is? of the three primary Late Night Hosts, I like Colbert the best. My issue with Fallon is … I can’t stand comedian who consistently laugh at their own jokes. Like it’s fine, if they crack during a bit, but Fallon could/can barely hold it together on stag, and his time on SNL?????? oh he wanted to be Sandler sooooooooo bad.
