Dear Facebook,
I purchased new windows for my TI Grand Estate in 2017. We had wood windows and they were rotting in many places, so I opted to replace them all including the frames, sills, etc. The product I bought was manufactured right here in Nashville and is considered "paintable PVC" which is basically a plastic window you can paint (a requirement from the HOA). They also had a 20 year warranty -- which gets me to my point.
In 2018/2019 the company that made the windows was purchased by a company out of Memphis. That company decided they should get out of the manufacturing business and only do window resale -- all good, I get it. I now have 10 windows that have broken seals that need glass replacement and I get crickets when I contact the warranty department. I've called, I've emailed, I've reached out to senior leaders on LinkedIn in desperation. Nothing. I think the next step is to have a lawyer script a certified letter bringing this situation to a head. To replace these 10 windows would be an easy $10k if I had to do it all over again including paint and install.
Anybody dealt with a similar issue before? When GM stopped making Saturn and Pontiac, they still honored the warranties. Is that a choice companies make or can choose not to have to?
